How dumb can Iran possibly be? I mean really, when the US is closing in on attacking you, the one thing you don't do is provoke them. In a statement today, Iran suggested that it could cause the US "harm and pain" during discussions at the Atomic Energy Agency. When the nation that you are threatening controls a nation on either side of you and has more soldiers, you don't insult them because that will just get you killed. Why do you think Canada plays nice with the US....well because our too economies are intertwined and we are culturally quite similar, but if we didn't have that, then the surrounding us thing would be the reason. There are times to stand up and there are times to bend over and take it. Guess which one this is? Iran's only hope is the support of Russia and China. The three countries would have a lot to loose if sanctions were placed as they are large trading partners, but the Chinese and the Russians know when to step back to relieve the fears of Armageddon. The US is trying to start world war 3 and the only thing we can do is wait it out for 2 more years until Dubya is out of office.

Iran can do whatever it wants at the moment, because the US occupation force in Iraq is grossly under-manned. To add to their difficulties, Iran is a far more capable foe than either Iraq and Afghanistan combined. It simply isn't particularly feasibly at the moment and Iran knows it.
Yeah, but Republicans remember things for a long time. It took 10 years but they finally got Sadam. They had an extreme hate-on for the Soviet Union which lasted over half a century. They can wait a few years until Jeb gets into office and attack Iran. It may not be today, but the US will attack Iran and it may be faster if they keep a high profile. Remember, if you set your sights low, nobody will notice if you fail.
