Hey everyone,
I know it has been quite some time since I last posted on the blog, mainly I have been too busy to really get back into the political discussions that I have had before and partly because I just kinda forgot about it. Anyways, something politically just happened to me earlier in the day and I just wanted to share it with anyone who decides to read this. Earlier in the day, I was invited to a leaders debate party hosted by the NDP. Yeah, I know, but since I live in Sudbury now, and I have several friends who are members, I decided to go. In fact, one of the friends who invited me, is actually rather high up there in the NDP in Sudbury (before you guys ask, I will not say who it was due to his privacy and it is up to him to say anything). Anyways, the main reason why I wanted to go was so my friends and I could sit down in the pub and have a few drinks while watching the debates on the big screen, and have a frank and open discussion on the debates that just occurred. Well, when I arrived there at 7:10pm, I found my friends who were sitting at a table in the bar and there were a lot of NDP people there. I stood right beside them and started to talk to them about what I missed. I got quite a few looks when I walked in since I was wearing the same Liberal Party hat that I always wear (and I have worn several times to other NDP events) but I really didn`t care since I was here to watch the debates with my friends and maybe talk a bit with my MP who I have talked to multiple times over the last few years and could even consider him an acquaintance. Well, once more people started to see that I was there, the Blackberry`s started to come out and then someone came to our table and went to talk to one of my friends who was there. He talked for a few seconds, then came and sat back down, and the guy wanted to talk to me. He pulled me aside and told me that it was a closed event and I was not allowed to be there. I told him that I was invited by several people who were here but if you do not want me here, then I would leave. That is exactly what I did. So, because I was wearing my Liberal hat, I was turfed from a bar within 10 minutes. It must make you think that if your party is so insecure about it`s policies and support that it would not allow a dissenting point of view in the bar, then maybe people shouldn`t be voting for you to begin with. Way to go Jack Layton, your party is literally as open and accountable as the Conservative Party of Canada.

Who else is not Canadian

As pretty much everyone knows, the Cons have come up with new attack ads. My first thought was shouldn't the governing party try to solve the major economic problems that are affecting people all across Canada instead of ads dissing their eventual replacement. Then I realized that they are the Cons and not the Tories and everything started to make sense.

Then another question popped into my head, if Michael Ignatieff is not Canadian because he spent 30+ years traveling the world, living a life most people only dream of, getting some of the most prestigious jobs ever, then who else is not Canadian. Lets take a look at some evil terrorist non-Canadians that are here to destroy the country.

1. Celine Dion: Well, this one was a tough one because a good chunk of Canadians don't want to acknowledge the fact she was born in Canada, but that evil bitch took a job in Las Vegas, the most evil place in America. So why haven't we formed a lynch mob with pitchforks and torches and hunted her down yet?

2. Martin Short: This "Funny Man" left his job and home in Canada and moved down to that third layer of hell known as Hollywood. This demonic terrorist has spent over 20 years in hell laughing it up with some of the most elitist bastards in all the world.

3. Wayne Gretzky: He should be public enemy number one for the crap he has pulled. Not only did he leave Canada to move to the US, but he did it to play Canada's national sport. That should be a slap in the face to all Canadians. Then it gets even worse, this self-centred egotistical bastard then went into coaching. So where did he decide to do all of his coaching, well Phoenix Arizona that's where. What, Canada wasn't good enough for you Wayne. Then he had a chance for redemption. Jim Balsillie wants to buy the Phoenix Coyotes and move them to Hamilton. Now a true Canadian would support the chance to return home to his country but what does he do, he publicly states that he wants to stay in America and is against moving Canada's national sport back home as well.

4. Marc Garneau: Well he is not as bad as OsamaWayne Al-Gretzky, and I am still not sure what to call him. This Non-Canadian did not only leave Canada, he had the Gall to even leave the Planet Earth. Does this mean that he is no longer human, because humans don't leave the Planet Earth. So this Evil Alien Terrorist hated Canada so much, he would rather go to a place with no oxygen, and enough radiation to kill then live in the greatest nation ever.

These people should be ashamed of themselves. We should also put them on terrorist watch lists, just so they can get what is coming to them for being so non-Canadian.

Liberal Convention '09

Attention Peeps in the Federal Government

I noticed this before I stopped posting on my blog before, but I am going to comment on it again. It seems that quite a few people in the federal government read my little blog and I was wondering who in the big house is reading it. I was wondering if it is fellow Liberals reading my blog and wondering if free speech was a good thing, or is it the NDP trying to get an idea, or is it the Bloc reaffirming their ideals on separating from Canada, or is it the Emo's (see my blogs tagline or this post) grabbing evidence so I get put on a terrorist no-fly list. We all know you are reading it, just let us know who you are, there are several from the House of Commons, a few from GTIS, some from the Privy Council, we even got the Department of Foreign Affairs. Just let me know who you are, and in case you aren't actually an important figure (ie. MP, higher up in their party) then just let us know your affiliation with your party. I am just sooooooo god damn curious about who you people actually are. You can say whatever you want about me or my blog as this is a nation of free speech.

Back at the end of June I commented on the Cons military spending increase....and it is starting to come true. At the end of the post I wrote the following:

"They are going to pull an Ontario PC government by trying to buy votes, hide debt and then complain when the new Liberal government comes into power and has to cut all of the governments spending."

Now, in a little article seen here, it looks like the Cons are right on track for the whole master plan thing. First off, how the hell can a government lose over 3 billion dollars in 2 months. Now last year, the housing crunch was being felt in the US, but we in Canada were still relatively unaffected. Even at the beginning of 2008, the federal government was still earning running a substantial surplus, but the US economic problems were still getting worse. So what does our great government do? Give more tax cuts to the wealthy and big business, and hope that oil goes up to $200 a barrel to pay for it all. (Now when the Cons release the balance in 2 months, everyone will have to take into account the 4.2 billion dollar surplus from the spectrum auction. If it is below a 4.2 billion dollar surplus, the government is still running a deficit.) Since the price of oil will continue to drop for the rest of the year possibly as low as $70 a barrel, the federal coffers will be all but empty. We will be several billion dollars in the red, services will have to be cut in order to pay for it all, and taxes will have to go up. Every single time the Liberals cut spending, the Cons will be up in arms about how the Liberals keep on hurting Canadians by trying to balance the budget even though they destroyed a decade of fiscal solvency with 2 years of sheer ineptitude. Now before anyone says anything, the last part was after the election this fall when the Liberals get back into power after the August/September budget results come in and the government is in the red by over 1 billion dollars.

I was bored while surfing the net and I came across this.

Now I don't know why but this banner really confuses me. Do they mean that everyone that teaches is a Liberal? Or does it mean that we are supposed to fight the man by becoming a member of the Reform Party...oops, I mean the Canadian Alliance....damn, I mean the Con party? Last time I checked, the Cons were still in power so wouldn't that mean that we should be joining a party that isn't affiliated with the Cons? Or are they saying that nobody in their right mind would actually vote for the Cons so you should vote for them so you won't be a conformist? So the Cons are now the new emo? Wait I like that one....let me just say that again, THE CONS ARE THE NEW EMO!!!!! It makes me chuckle inside. I am still trying to wrap my head around this banner and it makes absolutely no sense.

The Con's "$30 Billion" Spending Plan

Yeah, I know it has been a while (over 1 year) but this little tidbit of info just passed by everyone and I just couldn't let it slide by. Back in May, the cons announced their new military spending plan that would increase spending by $30 billion over the next 20 years. Now a $1.5 billion increase per year to buy new equipment and train new soldiers seemed like a nice little boost to the military to help keep the military up to date and the fact that it would be a 5% increase in current spending seemed fiscally conservative especially for this government. Well, that plan of theirs ended up being considerably higher as seen by their dead of night spending increase of the military.

Currently, the Canadian government spends $17 billion on the military for troops, equipment, training, and any other expenditures that may arise. With their new proposal, the cons would spend close to $25 billion a year. That is almost a 50% increase in spending. Now that is more like the cons I know and despise. Even with these raw numbers there can still be some interpretation, so let’s break down the numbers.

1. $250 billion in military salaries in the next 20 years. There are currently 87,000 troops (62,000 full time & 25,000 part time) in the military and the cons plan on increasing it to 100,000 (70,000 full time & 30,000 part time) over the next 20 years. Let’s do the calculations shall we...say we had the 70,000 troops tomorrow and paid them full time salary of $66,000/yr which is the top pay a soldier would get paid after 5 years of service, give them a 2% pay increase every year and let’s see how much would be spent:
(70,000 troops x $66,000) = $4,620,000,000
That’s right folks, 70,000 troops being paid the maximum salary would only be paid $4.6 billion during the first year. If you add in the 2% annual pay increase and total it up over the next 20 years, the grand total would be $112,253,848,471. Yup, $112 billion in 20 years. Even if you make it 105,000 full time troops, it would only be $168,380,772,706.50. Now of course the actual pay would be lower because the 30,000 part time troops would be paid less than the full time troops, and not everyone will be paid the maximum pay, but I just wanted to see how close I could come to the cons numbers....and I could barely get half way there. Where the hell is the other $100+ billion going to?

2. $60 billion for new equipment. Since I have no clue about how many pieces of equipment need to be replaced, I won't comment on it except for that this seems a little high.

3. $140 billion on training and maintenance. Like the new equipment, I don't know how much these costs are, but these also seem rather high.

4. $40 billion on new buildings and infrastructure. That is crazy too high. Even if they replace every building with a new one this would not even get to $40 billion. What the hell are they spending this money on?

I think somebody with more knowledge of military spending should take a look this because this seems far too excessive for a government to spend. When the cons say $30 billion increase over 20 years and they mean $130 billion, makes you think about how poor their fiscal management is. Do they seriously think that oil will keep on going up every year and surpluses will keep on going up too? I know they are mainly from Alberta and most Albertans think the good times will always last (oil price increase in the 70's followed by bottoming out of the market in the early 80's) but they will be in for a rude awakening in a couple of years when the price of oil settles back down. Wait a minute...that’s it!!! Now I know what they are doing. They are going to pull an Ontario PC government by trying to buy votes, hide debt and then complain when the new Liberal government comes into power and has to cut all of the governments spending. (clap, clap, clap) Bravo stupid con people, that is a very...um...dumb move.

It's Already Been a Year

I was just looking at my blog and I just realized that my blog has had it's first birthday. It happened on the 9th of January, but I just realized it today. I didn't really start posting until January 14, but I did create the blog on the 9th. I know this has absolutely nothing to do with anything, but I just decided to post this little bit of information.

Also, while I am here, I am going to let everyone know that I am going to start using this blog for more of my random rants as opposed to being a political blog. Since I created United Liberals, I am going to focus my political blogging there. I will be doing some political posts here, but they will be in my traditional uncouth fashion with a lot of f-bombs. My articulate side will be on United Liberals and I urge everyone to bookmark this site as we will be doing a lot of posts and it will become the next big political blog. If you do it now, you can say you were a reader of the blog before it was cool and before we all sold out for the all mighty dollar. It also has an e-mail subscription so you can read what we have posted the very next day while checking your e-mail. You can read about us while pretending to work. How cool is that!!!

Anyways, I am getting tired now and it is my last day of vacation so I am going to play a little PS3 and then go to bed.

The New United Liberals Blog

United Liberals Blog-The Details

The new United Liberals blog is a concept I created to make a one-stop-shop for swing voters, Red Tories, and centrist NDPers to get their information and hear the Liberal message. An election is coming and it is coming soon. We need to get in early and start changing people’s minds to get them to vote Liberal before it is too late.

The blog will start with a small group chosen by me, that is if they accept the offer. They have been chosen for their ideas, the way they communicate their message, and for some of them, popularity in the blogging community. My only thoughts on this was we need some people with name recognition, and we need an articulate, concise message that will help convince people to switch their vote to the Liberal Party. There were 11 out of the 25 positions that I gave open invitations for. Of those, I only expect half of them to actually say yes. Seriously, do you think Warren Kinsella will be doing posting on this blog. Jason is most likely too busy, CalgaryGrit probably is too, and I don't think anyone even knows where Scott is. Even if I left it completely open, Rob probably would have asked to join and Dave would have joined. So that would leave 4 people that I chose. The reason I chose them is their abilities as bloggers and the respect I have for them. Of those 4 people, none of them have said anything yet....so that leaves......nobody. This was a dream group, if they wanted it, the position was theirs, if not, there is a strong pool of bloggers that could take their position.

If you decide to become a member of the United Liberals blog, you will be screened by the current members of the group for 2 reasons. 1. To see if you are truly a Liberal, 2. To see if your writing style would be a good fit for the blog. (For example, if I applied, the consensus would be to decline me because I am very immature on my blog. On the United Liberals blog, I will be a lot more professional, and I promise I will not use profanity in my posts.) We want good, strong people to write in the blog so we can convince as many people as possible to vote Liberal.

All decisions on the blog will be a consensus up to and including the colour of the blog. Since we have to start somewhere, I made the first few appointments to get the ball rolling. After today, the rest of the bloggers will be chosen by the group with priority given to the people on my dream list. If they don't want to participate, then we will choose someone else to participate. Even everything I say now, will end up being up for debate so when we officially launch the site, it may not resemble what I have posted here.

All of the bloggers that will post on United Liberals will still be posting on their own blogs as usual. United Liberals will be used to post the views of regular Liberals on current events and Liberal ideas on the major issues Canadians are facing. On the latter, United Liberals will be used as a think-tank to come up with new ideas to the problems facing all of us. One idea will be to post a topic of a major issue, and have all the bloggers post ideas on possible solutions to that problem, come up with a consensus, and propose it to the Liberal Party of Canada.

This seguway's to the next idea for the blog. Once we get big enough, we could petition the Liberal Party to get official recognized status and be the first daily Liberal Party blog. With the LPC's backing, we would reach a whole new audience and really show the power of the blogosphere. As I said earlier, this is just an idea and will be voted on by the panel once it is assembled.

One person asked, how would this affect Liblogs? The short answer is very little to not at all. The long answer is that postings on Liblogs would scroll through a little bit faster as there will be several posts going on throughout the day. It would be like 25 new blogs posted on Liblogs a day. Of course I will recommend that we join Liblogs and if we get too big, we may leave it so the smaller blogs will have the opportunity to post. The downside to this will be lower traffic to Liblogs, but that would level out in time.

As I have said, all final ideas will be the consensus of the members of the blog and only a consensus. There will be nobody with any additional power. It will truly be a collective of ideas and ideals to help the Liberal Party during the next election.

If I missed something, or if something is still unclear, just post a comment and I will try to answer it as quickly as possible.

I Called It!!!! I am the Greatest!!!!

Well, like every other Liberal blogger has posted, Stephane Dion has won the Liberal Leadership. To this I have to say....You're Welcome. If it wasn't for me, and only me, Dion wouldn't have won the vote. Not the delegates, the campaign staff, not the candidates who threw their support behind Dion, and not Stephane himself. It was all me!!!! If it wasn't for my Official Anyone but Rae or Iggy campaign that reached tens of readers, Stephane Dion wouldn't have won the election. It just shows how powerful my blog truly is. GO ME!!!![proceeds to do a bad robot dance]

So, as I said Stephane Dion is now the official Leader of the Opposition, and the next Prime Minister of Canada. His policies that he ran on are a stark contrast to the narrow view that the Cons have put out and will show the world that Canada is back and we have recuperated from our drunken one night stand with our "New Canadian Government"

I would like to congratulate Mr Dion and all of his campaign staff that worked so tirelessly to get him to where he is today. He is truly a deserving person with the drive and the intelligence to make this country the great bastion of social ideals and progressive intellect that we truly are.

I would also like to thank the other candidates for a great job rallying Canadians across the country and re-introducing them to the Big Red Machine. Gerard Kennedy, Scott Brison, Martha Hall Findlay, Bob Rae, Ken Dryden, Joe Volpe, and Michael Ignatieff were all great icons in helping re-energize the Liberal Base and all of them ran great campaigns. Your work to bring life back to the party is greatly appreciated. This spring will be a great time for the Liberal Party of Canada as we WILL retake our rightful place as the true voice of Canada and lead our great nation to another decade or more of economic, social, and environmental prosperity.

Time To Blow Your Freakin' Mind

Okay, I know that this is supposed to be a political blog, but I came up with something so unbelievably mind blowing, I just had to share it. What I came up with is the Maligec theory of the Universe and The Maligec Theory of Evolution. Now, I don't have a degree, but my theories actually make a lot of sense and follow all laws of physics and nature. Now, without further adieu, here is my world premier of my theories.

We have all been striving to answer the age old question of life, the universe and everything. Heck, there was even a book that's premise revolved around that question. Yes it was The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, but the question was there. Today, I have come up with a theory that will be able to prove the age old question of how it all started and how we got to where we are today.

First off I will start with how the universe was created. The universe has both a yin and a yang. Life and death, light and dark, good and evil. Elementary physics states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transferred. Now, this works in all scenarios except one, Black Holes. Black holes do have a polar opposite in a white hole which instead of sucking all matter and energy, shoots out matter and energy from its vortex. Now, if you place physics into explaining a black hole, the massive gravity well will suck in matter energy, and time but it does not transfer the energy anywhere. My theory is that black holes actually store everything it sucks in and stores it inside of itself. As a black hole accumulates matter and energy it slowly fills up in subspace. Now, once a black hole reaches critical mass, it would explode and expel all of its contents into normal space. This would be like eating way too much and eventually throwing up all the contents of your stomach. This would happen on a continual basis of binging and purging. Turning black holes into white holes, creating new black holes which in turn would create new white holes and the cycle would continue forever. The universe was always here, just in different forms. This theory also follows every aspect of physics and our understanding of the universe. This cycle would take trillions of years to complete and once the entire universe has been sucked into black holes, they would be purged back into our universe thus recreating the cycle of the universe.

Now I am going to tackle the question of how we got to where we are today. By we, I do mean human beings, and by how we got here, I mean how humans evolved from single cell organisms into walking, breathing, talking organisms. I would begin by just explaining how the cellular evolution came to be, but I decided to start even earlier. I am starting on how those cells even came into existence. Now, we all know that bacterial cells can survive in the vacuum of space in a dormant state, and once it reaches a suitable temperature, they would divide and multiply. We have all seen this with meteors that have had bacterial cultures and started to divide once we brought it back to room temperature. Now, with my theory of how the universe started, matter is sucked into a black hole and stored into subspace until critical mass is reached, then expelled into the universe. Once the matter is sucked into subspace, there would be bacterial cultures on some of that matter. Once it is expelled, those cultures would float around in the universe until it crashes into a planet. If by chance it crashes into a planet with a suitable atmosphere and distance from the sun like Earth, then the bacteria would multiply and start the basis of all life on Earth. Now, while multiplying, the bacteria would be subject to a lot of radiation from the new universe that has just formed. Due to this radiation, mutations in the cells DNA would cause the bacteria to change, causing new dominant traits in the cells, thus evolving the bacteria into new forms. This has been proven, albeit by accident with radioactive mutations in our environment. We have caused mutations in frogs which gave them extra limbs so we know radiation will allow for genetic accidents. With millions of years of constant genetic accidents we would see the evolution of the bacterial cells into multi-celled organisms, and eventually into the accident known as marine life. While those mutations continue to occur, you eventually get a fish that accidentally has lungs instead of gills. With this accident, you would have the first land animals. Those animals would have a mutated form of those original bacteria on them and eventually shed them onto the surface where they would mutate into other forms of animals and plant life and it would continue until today. Basic evolutions in species occur naturally like sabre-tooth tigers loosing their long teeth due to smaller mammals populating the world, and mammoths losing most of their hair so they can survive in more tropical regions. The bigger change is the evolutionary accidents where radioactive mix-ups with DNA cause major shifts in a species, like monkeys into proto humans, and then eventually into man. The evolution of the human species wasn't natural, it was actually a cosmic accident where a couple of strands of DNA were changed into something completely different which was also not catastrophic to the new species. Since I am not a scientist, I cannot test this myself but if there is someone out there who can, they can prove my theory by placing several thousand of a species in a controlled environment and subjecting them to various forms of radiation and testing them to see if they evolve into a new form of life. If this is done, this would prove my theory of life on Earth.

Now, as I stated before, I am not a scientist, but my theories do fall in line with all of our current knowledge of the universe and explain how everything came to be. The Universe binges and purges itself through black holes and new species evolution is purely a cosmic accident caused by genetic mutations in our DNA, thus creating a new species.

I used to read Jason's blog daily, but I have only sporadically read his blog over the last few months. Not because I don't like it, but because I am too lazy to get off my couch and go to my compy. I decided to read it again today and the only thing I can say is I am glad my blog is not like his blog. I am soooooo happy that I am still small potatoes in the ol' blogosphere and don't have to deal with the troll(s?) that he has to deal with. He could probably post a comment saying "I like puppies, they are cute" and the trolls will turn it into a crack about Gomery and possibly one about how Paul Martin strangles hookers while feeding babies to rabid dogs.

Well, if I did have the quantity of people on my blog that Jason has, I would run out of insults that I throw out at the trolls for being so fucking retarded. I have a statement for anyone who reads blogs. IF YOU DO NOT LIKE THE BLOG YOU ARE READING, READ SOMETHING ELSE YOU FUCKTARD!!!!!! If you do decide to read and post comments on the blog anyways, grow a fucking set of testicles and post your fucking name. I know most people who post comments on blogs are either friends of the blogger, or like minded people who agree, or slightly disagree and will give an intellectual rebuttal on how their idea may produce a better result. Democrats Win Both The House and Senate

As the first blog to create the Anyone but Rae or Iggy campaign, which by the way was so successful that Dion is now leading in second ballot polls, I am going to be the first blog (at least on Liblogs) to declare that the Democrats have won both the House and Senate races in the Midterm Midtacular.

Why is this important you ask....well, this means that the Republicans will now have a scapegoat for the war in Iraq in the 2008 Presidential Elections by blaming it all on the Democrat controlled House and Senate. Way to go Republicans on losing this election!!!! You have now just set yourselves up for a sweep in 2008.

I know I haven't posted much on my innovative Anyone but Rae or Iggy Campaign, but I have been working over the last few days and I bought Final Fantasy 12 so those have taken up much of my time. I will be posting more stuff tomorrow, and I will be posting on Thursday and Friday as well since I have those days off.

Crunch Time in the Liberal Leadership Race

Since I am unable to go to the Liberal Leadership Convention in December....I decided to use my blog to create a movement for all the Liberals that read my blog. My movement is being called the Anyone but Rae or Iggy Campaign. By this, I mean if you support anyone but Bob Rae or Michael Ignatieff, and you do not want them to become leader of the Liberal Party, you should lend Stephane Dion your vote for the second ballot of the Leadership Election. Even if you are supporting one of those two candidates, and you are trailing in the ballots, you should drop your vote, and vote for Stephane.

Stephane Dion is the only real choice for running the Liberal Party for a lot of reasons. He is the longest serving Liberal in the running, he is French and that will help with the Quebec vote, he's not Bob Rae so he will do well in Ontario, he's not Iggy so he will do well with minorities, he has a plan for curbing climate change, and he is a very strong public speaker which will help with bringing down The Harp. I will post more tomorrow about my new initiative, but it is late and I want to go to bed.

I haven't posted in a while so I am going to do a mini rant of current events to catch me back up.

1. Closed, the new open!!!- Political watchdog groups are getting rather pissed off at the Cons version of an open government. Their idea of an open government is to not give out any info or if they have to. Here is an excerpt:
"Mike Wallace, a Conservative MP who's on the all-party ethics committee, has called on the justice minister to table a new bill by December. He said he has yet to hear back from the justice minister.
To which the justice minister replied "Information regarding a new bill to overhaul the access to information act will take 60,000 man-hours to find and would cost Mr. Wallace 4.3 trillion dollars.

2. Pound O'Dope- Dick Pound, Chairman of the World Anti-Doping Agency is now saying that Canada is filled with Doped up athletes. He is saying that we are harbouring Athletes from around the world that are using performance-enhancing drugs. Now, as far as I know, the only person that has moved to Canada for work because he was banned from playing in the US for Drug-Use is Ricky Williams. I know Canada has a smaller population than the US, but one person still doesn't classify Canada as a Drug Refuge.

3. Nobody Cares What You Think!!!- Now we all know that climate change is real and the Cons won't do anything about it...but what the hell is Jack Layton thinking threatening a non-confidence vote right now. Everyone in the world knows that the Liberals are in the middle of a leadership election and will vote down any non-confidence motions. Also, it hasn't even been one year since the last election and whoever tables a non-confidence vote will get punished at the polls because they made everyone get out and vote so early. Layton is purely grandstanding and should be completely ignored for the rest of his natural life!

4. Screw You Injins!!!- This is the Cons official response to the stalemate in Caledonia. Jim Prentice has cancelled the scheduled meeting between the feds, the province and the First Nations group claming the land in Caledonia. Since land claims are a federal issue, the federal government should be fronting the bill to settle the claim and should be doing the negotiations. Since the stalemate began in February, the feds have done nothing at all. The only people that have been doing anything is the provincial government, and the province is trying to get the feds to pay up for all the resources it has put into settling it. So the Cons responded with the standard, screw you guys, I'm going home response that they love to do.

I talked to my boss on Friday about getting the week off to go to the Liberal Leadership Convention...and the answer was no. I kind of assumed as much since it is the busiest time of the year and since I work in retail, it is also the time to make the most money. So, since it is the golden quarter and the fact that we are already short staffed...I guess this means I will be buying a PS3 in November and hopefully they come out with a Liberal Leadership Convention Sim game so I can feel like I will be with you guys there.

On another note, I will be getting heavily intoxicated the weekend after the convention. If anyone else wants to come to the drink-a-thon, let me know and I will try to make it more of an official Liberal Kegger and book a bar and such. This is just in the idea stage right now and with any sort of support, I might try to make it a reality.

Ok, I am as shocked as much as you are, but I actually agree with the Cons in an actual policy. Now, before I get ahead of myself and support the idea, I do want to take a long look at the amendment...then get someone to dumb it down for me.....then get someone to dumb down the simplified version....so I know for sure that there are no loopholes that people could exploit.

There are two major parts to this amendment, the first one is that after the third violent or sexual conviction, the convicted offender will have to prove that they should not be considered dangerous offenders. This rule is kinda similar to the three strikes: You're out policy that they have in the States, but watered down for content. It does have the same potential for problems that occurred in the States with that policy. Once you get two strikes, if you are still committing the same crimes then you are going to shoot your way to bullet-ridden corpse. Yes it does deter to some degree, but it also increases more violent offences. The same thing COULD happen here as well, but to a lesser extent....and I do emphasize could.

The second part of this amendment is to increase the peace bond from 12 month max to a 24 month max. I think they haven't gone far enough. This should be extended for the length that the person requesting the bond requested without any timeline for a maximum. Peace bonds are meant to protect the individual requesting it and it shouldn't have an expiry date. At least this is a start and I do have to give them props for that.

I guess I still have a little bit of Conservative left in me, but it only extends to crime. I am all for rehabilitation and counselling but there is a line that you have to draw to say that you're fucked up and there is no help for you. I know that’s not politically correct but we all think it and we all know someone who is beyond help and for the greater good of society should be locked up for good. We should always try to rehabilitate criminals in hopes that they will become a productive member of society but we do have to draw the line once the options are exhausted. I guess I will be getting flack for this but this is the great thing about the internet....I can say whatever I want to on my blog and there's nothing anyone can do about it!!

Ok, I have been gone for quite some time now. I was busy getting my license, and a car. Now that I have that out of the way I am going to get back to some blogging. By the way, I am going to post some pics of my car tomorrow and I apologize in advance for the low resolution. I don't have a camera and my Sony-Ericsson got stolen so I have to rely on the VGA quality of my Motorola.

Anyways, I have a dilemma. There are two different things that I want to do at the end of November but I don't know which one to choose. The laziest way to do it is to make you guys decide for me. I am considering joining the Laurier Club so I can become an Observer at the LPC convention in December, and I also want to get a PS3. Now the problem is I don't have the money to do both and I need to decide. So, over the next few days, I want ANYBODY WHO READS this to give their opinion on what I should do. I am very perplexed as to what I should do as both options are of high priority for me. I already have a place to stay in Montreal and my flight is already taken care of. So my only concern is coming up with the $500 I need to join the Laurier Club. I am also an avid gamer who has been waiting for the PS3 since it was first announced at E3 last year and even bought a High-Def TV just so I could use the PS3. I really need your help guys to sway my position either way.

Ok, seeing this little post on CBC made me chuckle a little. Not allowing anybody to run against you is a very good way to make sure that you win an election. The Cons are being sued by not one, not two, but 3 different people because they were not allowed to enter their respective races for their ridings. Well, to be more clear...two were for that reason, and the third was promised money to not run so whistleblower guy could run...and he still never received the money. This is the party that's supposed to bring honesty and integrity to politics, yet they impede the democratic process by eliminating all competition so their candidates that they hand pick can win. Now, handpicking politicians to run in ridings isn't new, it has been done for years, but blocking other members so they cannot even run by slamming the doors in their faces or simply putting their fingers in their ears and screaming LALALALALALALA until they leave is just plain wrong. I said it when I first started my blog and I will say it again. The Liberals lost their way, but if you want to see corrupt people, elect a Conservative and watch your freedoms fly away like a DC10 with rockets heading for the United States.

First off, bonus points for whoever gets the reference in the title. Secondly, what the hell are they thinking? I am all for creating an Alberta Provincial Police Force to man the highways and rural areas of Alberta. It works in Ontario, why not try it here. But making sheriffs to be glorified traffic cops....now that is just dumb. First off, calling them sheriffs is just flirting with Alberta's love of American conservatism and the American way of life in general. Now I don't mean that everyone in Alberta is crazy, but there are enough of them to lump them all together under the provincial banner. Just look at who Alberta elected for their legislature and who they voted into Parliament. If they are going to do this, go all the way and create a Provincial Police Force. Do not half ass it and create sheriffs to write speeding tickets. I know, not much to say, but it's the long weekend so there's no news to type about.

It's a slow news day, so I am just going to briefly address a few stories that came out over the last few days.

1. Chinese head tax paperwork creates confusion- Seriously, did anyone expect anything different than this. If you are going to get money from the government, they will make it as difficult as possible. It doesn't matter what government is in power, it will always be near impossible to get money from them. Don't believe me, do your taxes and call me when you get out of the psych ward.

2. Pull troops from Afghanistan by February: Layton- Ok, his heart is in the right place but I am putting out an APB on his mind. Layton wants us to stop the offensive military campaign in Afghanistan...fine, you came up with a good idea that has been echoed for months. Then you want Canada to pull out our troops....that's when he gets stupid. We need the troops there, they can do things other than kill people and die. They have been used in the past, and to a lesser extent than they should be in Afghanistan, to rebuild war-torn regions and train local military and police services so those nations can defend themselves. As I have been saying for a long time and I will continue to say until either this whole fiasco ends or I become Prime Minister (whichever comes first) Canada should be there purely for humanitarian and rebuilding purposes and to help train Afghanistan's military and police forces so they can deal with the Taliban themselves.

3. Alberta same-sex bill blocked by opposition- Now I am still trying to figure out how somebody can try to fight a freedom of choice/speech issue by using the freedom of choice/speech tactic. Since I have the freedom to say what I want and the freedom to choose to marry a person of the opposite sex, then it should be a law that everyone must agree with me. Come on people. If you work for the government, your bigotry stays at home. You deal with the fucking public, you have to deal with the entire fucking public. This bill was to allow justices to refuse to marry same-sex couples based on religious beliefs, to slander and defamate the gay and lesbian community, and to remove any mention of the fact that gays and lesbians exist in schools. This is getting fucking ridiculous and it must be stopped. I urge every Albertans that reads my blog to write their MLA and force them to remove such bigotry from the Albertans Legislature.

I got some good news and some bad news people.

First, the bad news, I formatted my computer and I forgot to back up all my data so I lost my recording of the Dion interview. So, unfortunately I will not be able to finish my interview that I did with him several months ago.

Now for the good news, my computer is running very good now and I have no issues anymore. I am also going to start posting again as I didn't want to post until I finished my interview. An Interview With a Dion Pt. 1

Well, I finally got around to doing some of my interview with Mr. Dion. It took a long freaking time to transcribe it and I still haven't finished yet. It took me about 3 straight hours to produce the text version of 6 minutes of interview. God I wish I had Dragon: Naturally Speaking so I can get this transcribed. (Me) The first question I actually do have for you is from my friend named Dave who is from Yellowknife. His question was, with the development of

’s north booming as it is, what is your stance on the Mackenzie Pipeline Developments and general northern development as a whole?

(Stephane) About the Mackenzie Pipeline, I was the Minister of the Environment and I insisted on a very strong environmental assessment. (***audio glitch…lost part of the comment. Basically he said he wanted to make sure all environmental assessments were done and to make sure that it was safe to do so with minimal environmental impact. He also wanted to make sure we got the approval of the Aboriginals in the north and use northerners to build the pipeline.***) On the north, I would expand the national parks and the marine protection areas. With this, I would give decent jobs to the Canadians around there and to the Aboriginal people. I would invest in the science of the north and invite all the scientists of the world to study the Canadian north, including the Danes, and I would be a very strong partner in the Arctic Council that Canada created, which is all the countries in the arctic, to have a international law that would be respected which is the best way to protect our sovereignty and our stewardship of the north.

(Me) The second question is,

(Stephane) Don’t think the way it was, was so rosy. In fact in some ways it has been improved. Many diseases that we were unable to cure at the time, now we know how to deal with them, so we need to be careful on our assessments about the situation of the health care system. There are a lot of troubles, wait times are one of them, it’s an international problem, not only for

. I know that for me, the key principal to protect, is the principal that we have in the Canada Health Act, the 5 conditions and you may sum it up in one condition. The size of the wallet has nothing to do with the access to the service. We need to protect this principal and if that means we say no to Premier Klein, I will say no. But, health care is a federal jurisdiction in many ways. Aboriginal health, health research, international agreements about heath disease and pandemics, you also have regulations to banish dangerous and polluting products and put them out of the market, promotion of healthy lifestyle, and investing in sports centers. All these issues are federal and these issues aren’t that well done today. I think the federal government should do a much better job in its own backyard and I will do so as Prime Minister.

(Me) Scientists around the world have been saying for years that humankind has been slowly destroying the world by polluting the worlds air, water and land. The Kyoto Accord did administer steps to reduce these pollutions and the current Conservative government is trying to dismantle the Kyoto accord and pull us out all together. If you were in power, would you keep the accord scrapped, reintroduce the accord, or go even farther beyond the limits that the accord stated to take a leadership role in the world?

(Stephane) If we are back in power in 2007, as a Prime Minster, I would still be able to provide a plan to reach our Kyoto commitment. If it is 2008, it will not be possible but I will not give up about the necessity to have greenhouse gas emitions going down and energy efficiency going up. Well, Stephane Dion was in Edmonton today and I promised that I would get an interview and I got it. It was supposed to be a 20 minute interview, but time constraints dropped it down to 10 minutes. My interview time with him was close to an hour and every question I asked got answered. I was going to ask 22 questions, but since I occupied so much of his time, I shortened it down to 18 I think. Anyways, I downloaded the recording onto my computer and I am going to transcribe it tomorrow. I am really tired now since I have been up since 7am and I had only 5 hours sleep that night. I am going to try to post the actual recordings but I am not sure how to do it yet. Ok, the tales of my demise have been greatly exaggerated. I have just gotten very, very, very lazy over the last little while. Well, I am gonna post religiously over the next little bit as I prepare for a very important event on my blog. What is it you may ask, well, it is my first ever one-on-one interview with a Liberal candidate. Since the conference call that happened at the end of May was a bust for me due to the schedule changes Mr. Dion had, I was unable to attend it. I did get a major compensation package though by getting a chance for an exclusive (to political blogs by people named Milan) one-on-one with Mr. Dion when he comes to Edmonton this Sunday. Which means, I have to look busy and somewhat professional on my blog if he decides to visit it. I am gonna transcribe the entire interview and post it on my blog for everyone to read. I will also try to record it into mp3 and have the audio available as well.

If anyone has any questions you want me to ask Mr. Dion, please let me know by writing them in my comments. I will try to ask as many of them as possible but I am sure that I will have a time constraint and I may not be able to ask them all. Now, I know Rob has been a blogger for quite some time and he is a Liberal....but I am unsure if he is actually Mr. Dion's e-communications co-chair. If he is, I will be conducting an interview with Mr Dion where I will be asking him the tough questions that should be asked to politicians. If you guys have some questions you want me to ask Mr. Dion, post it in my comments and if it is a real question, I will try to ask him about it during the interview. Anyways, I have to work in the morning and I have to go to bed now.

P.S. I haven't forgot about the budget post from two weeks ago...I am just extremely lazy and I promise I will have it done in a couple of days once I have the time to finish the post. The numbers are done with research and since I am not a tax major, I have to use my limited knowledge of taxation laws to make sure it is correct.

Budget 2006: A Tale of Stupidity

A long while ago, the Cons had released their budget. Now they say that this budget will help lower income families and would be the greatest thing since sliced bread. Well, I decided to put the numbers to the test by placing a hypothetical single parent, single child family through the paces of both the Liberals and the Cons budgets.

You see, this is the real difference between the Liberals budget and the Cons. Now, since the non-taxable income is the same, I left those at the planned tax exemption level of $10,000 which will be the amount in 2009 and added in the Con's employee rebate crap thing. Food on average is placed at $600 and since it is food, it is GST exempt. Power is averaged at $100 per month, Rent is $600 per month, Phone is $40 per month, clothes are at $200 per month, transit is at $59 per month, Daycare is at $800 per month (which is the cheapest I have seen) which I worked in the child care packages and subsidies and of course Alberta Health Care is at $34 per month (I can't remember what it is but I believe it is still $34 per month). Now, there are a boat load of extra expenses that I forgot about and just didn't know about but there still is a $1500 difference in the savings. These are the facts people...The Con's budget was supposed to help people like this one, but there is no way that paying $1500 more is considered help when the rich are getting massive discounts and saving boat loads more money. I am not even mentioning how all the retarded spending that they are doing could essentially put the country into debt...I will get to that tomorrow or Tuesday. I just thought I would give you guys something to chew on.

So, today The Harp announced that Quebec will hold a seat at the Canadian UNESCO office in Paris. Now, I know that this is just a token gesture used purely as a prop to make it look like the Cons are concerned about national unity but this is absolutely ridiculous. Quebec is a distinct part of Canada but everyone keeps on focusing on the word distinct and not the rest of it. Yes Quebec is distinct in it's culture and it's language, but have you ever heard a Newfie talk, or a person from BC....personally I still can't understand freaker...but the point is, that everyone is distinct from each other, and why in the blue hell are we trying to focus on our differences and not on what truly matters, our similarities.

This really pisses me off when politicians use token gestures to make themselves look like they care. The Liberals have used it from time to time, but that is all the Cons have done since they got into power. At least the Liberals did do things that benefit the nation and things that really meant something.

Well its official....well it was on the 6th but I am writing about it now....Belinda Stronach has dropped ou t of the Liberal Leadership Race. Now I wasn't a fan of Belinda running for office due to her crossing the floor last year which makes her look like a turncoat running for the Liberals but I do have a lot of respect for her dropping out and letting someone else who has been a Liberal longer than a year or two run the party. Her reasoning was the fact that the Liberals don't have the one member, one vote crap that the Cons have but I do believe that she dropped out because of how people would view her and she would never get a fair chance in the party. Having the current Liberal voting procedures does give Canada a voice in who becomes leader of the Liberals and not Ontario and Quebec. This is the fundamental flaw in the entire one person, one vote crap that everyone is spouting. In the end, it would make it even worse for any other province to have any influence aside from Ontario and Quebec. The best situation for elections in such a distinct nation as Canada is the status quo. We found the best way possible and now people want to change it because they don't know any better.

Anyways, back to the original topic, I am proud of Belinda for dropping out of the election and if she does want to spend the money.....I would be happy to accept her contribution and throw my name into the ring for the leader of the Liberal Party. Hell, as the most attractive Member of Parliament since Herb Grey left it is her duty to give me money so I can run for the leadership.

Diet Throne Speech Taste Test

Well, I have been off for about a week mainly due to being extremely lazy in writing in my blog and partly due to working and the fact that I get home so late. So I am going to start off from where I left off. On April 4, 2006 the Cons gave their first throne speech which could pretty well be summed up as "we are the Conservative Party of Canada and we will run this country until someone says otherwise." The throne speech was very little on substance and gave little details on what they were going to do. I guess if you don't tell anyone what you are going to do, you can't be held accountable if you do not fulfill those promises. Well I guess we will see exactly what the Cons are going to do when they introduce it and we will hear how the Liberals are anti-accountability and anti-family when the Liberals vote against their pro-luxury tax cuts and their choppy-at-best accountability act. I will go through it in more detail in later posts.

Well, I guess it's about time for me to get yelled at by bloggers about Palestine. I haven't made any comments in the past, not because I don't care, just because I was too busy making fun of The Harp. The Cons today have released a statement regarding Hamas and Palestine, proof read by The Harp, and P-Makkie won the task of dishing it out to the people.

Now, with just about everyone in politics, The Cons have gone too far on this situation. It's not as if they are the only ones to do it, but since they are in power now, I get to comment on them. Now, I do not condone terrorism in any way if it is either a guy strapping a bomb to his chest and blowing up half a city block, or burning crosses in front of a persons house, or bombing the crap out of a city to try to get one person who committed terrorism, but they could have used more tact when they were dealing with this situation. Instead of The Cons just flat out turning their back on Palestine, what they should do is open up the diplomatic channels and find any sort of way to hammer out an agreement. If you just turn your backs on them, they will just become more resentful and steadfast in their opinion. We should be sending our best diplomats on a plane to Palestine to talk to the leaders of Hamas to try to convince them to change their ways through sound open communication rather than sticking their fingers in their ears and screaming LALALALALALALALALA until they are drowned out entirely. We need to step up and help the Middle East by trying to broker a deal with Hamas and I would even volunteer to go down there myself, if I was in the political circle that would be able to get me there.

Started my first day of work at The Sony Store today, and I realized how much I hate working. I miss being on EI, with the nothing to do and all. It was almost first time having sex awkward for the first half of the day. Don't know what to touch, what not to touch, where to put things...just kinda freaky. But me kinda tired now, it's been a while since I have been up for more than 12 hours and I am gonna curl up into bed and sleep.

More of the Greatest Platform Ever

Well, time to add a few more issues for the greatest platform ever. I missed a few of them while I wrote the last bit and now it is time to put those ones back in.

National Unity- This one is such a no-brainer that I am still shocked as to why nobody ever thought of it. I would go to each province and ask them what exactly their problem is. Instead of constantly throwing money at the problem, why don't we just attempt to solve the problem in the first place. I would hold town halls in every province and territory to find out what their major issues were and try to solve them. The only way to solve a problem is to find out what it is and address it and that is what I plan on doing.

Child Care- Bring back the Liberal National Child Care Program. It is the best program out there as it actually provides child care. The Con's policy is just a hand out that can be spent on anything. If you don't need child care, then you just get a free $100 a month. The National Child Care Program that the Liberals put out was designed for the families out there that need child care, and not a simple cash handout that the Cons wanted. Canadians want the Liberal Child Care program and I will make sure that they get it.

Same Sex Marriage- Although it is a protected right I am going to make sure that it stays as a protected right. I don't want anyone to ever remove the rights of people because of religious beliefs and I will make sure it is protected by the constitution and not allow anyone to use the notwithstanding clause or any other means to remove those rights. The anti-gay movement has the right to be against it, but they do not have the right to infringe on the fundamental human rights of others because of their homophobia.

Crime- My stance on crime is a mixture between Liberal and Conservative thinking. I want to put extra money into hiring law enforcement officers across the country so they will be able to help prevent crime. I also want to help try to rehabilitate criminals during their first or second offence. There are people who just make one bad decision and we need to make sure that they are not lumped in with the dangerous offenders who have no chance of being rehabilitated. I will have psychological assessments done for those offenders to find out if they are in deed able to be rehabilitated. For the most dangerous offenders and the one's that cannot be rehabilitated, then tougher sentences need to be in place to make sure that they do not harm any other people.

Marijuana Laws- I would legalize it. Not because I am a pothead, but because of the fiscal benefits that would come from taxing the hell out of it. It would also reduce the workload from police as they would no longer have to spend their time dealing with a couple of harmless pot smoking people and would be able to deal with real crime. As I said earlier, I would tax the hell out of marijuana as well to obtain the large sums of money we need to help run the nation. The more weed we sell, the more social programs we can fund. Can't see anything wrong with that. Now I know some of you are thinking that smoking pot is a gateway drug, but it is not. The only thing it is a gateway to is a gateway to munchies. I know a lot of people who smoke pot and they are doing just fine in society. Yes some of them have experimented with stronger, more dangerous drugs, but it wasn't from smoking pot, it was because of their addictive personalities. If they drank, then they would become alcoholics, if they gambled, they would be penniless. It is not the drug that causes the problems, it is their psyche that creates the problem. The money that we collect would also allow for funding added counseling for gambling and substance abuse to help anyone who truly has a problem.

Now there will still be others and I will most likely expand on each topic in its own post but for now this is it. For any other posts or changes, I will put them in a different colour to differentiate between them.

The Platform To End All Platforms

Sorry about the delay in this, I got rather busy over the last couple of days, job interviews out of the blue and the 45 metric tonnes of snow that fell on Saturday made my weekend quite insane. Now, it is time for the post that you are all waiting for, the greatest election platform of all time. None of these are certainties, as I don't have budget tables available to me so I don't know what I can afford but we will cross that bridge when we come to it.

Health Care- Federalize it. The provinces have done such a piss poor job managing the system that we need to rebuild and restructure the system. With a federalized system, we can stream-line our resources to free up funds to expand the services that we need. Federalizing health care will reduce wait times by allowing patients to go to another province to get their medical work done. Also, we should increase funding to health care to rebuild the closed hospitals and re-staff all our hospitals to cope with our health needs.

Education- Federalize it as well. We need to make sure that every child in Canada has the same level of education. We also need to allow our children the same opportunities that we had in school by allowing them to participate in extra-curricular activities and have teachers available for the students if they need them. I also want to subsidize post-secondary education to allow everyone the chance to get a better education.

Accountability- Change the Ethics Commission so it holds 1 member of each party. This will bring balance to the system and allow for fairer scrutiny to our political system. I would also expand the Auditor General's role in Parliament and have them make sure the money that we spend, will be going where it needs. We don't need to have our departments blowing their money just so they use up the money in their budget. Budgets will be flexible to allow for extra funds if needed in certain areas and to save money if we don't.

Foreign Affairs- This one is a long one, but I believe that Canada should play a larger role in foreign affairs. First off, we should look into debt forgiveness for third world nations to allow them to start getting a level footing in global affairs. They are burdened with too much debt and as one of the richest nations on the earth, we need to help make sure that they have a chance to make something of themselves. We should also send extra aid to those third world nations to stabilize their resources. We need to send engineering teams to their countries to help irrigate their land so they can produce their own food and become self-sufficient. Food is their biggest priority and will allow prosperity in the region if we help them feed all of their people. If this issue is solved for the people of third world nations, then they can focus their efforts, with our help, in more advanced areas of life like technology and business. Canada is also a nation of peace and we should help bring that to the world’s stage. Canada should play a leading role in creating a lasting peace between many nations which have a long history of hatred between them. A stabilized world will allow for greater prosperity and if it is done peacefully, it will be a longer lasting stability and will not have as much of a detrimental effect on the people of those nations.

Social Security- We have been able to obtain large surpluses over the last several years and my theory on how to fix social security is to invest our surpluses to allow a larger winfall. This, I know, is a radical idea but I believe this may be the best chance to obtain the funds that we need to help make sure that there are funds available for social security in the future. Feasibility options would have to be done to make sure that this is possible and we would have to make the investments secret so we don't disrupt the natural flow of the stock markets but it may just be the best bet to save social security before it's too late.

Native Affairs- We have done a lot of damage to the native communities over the last 500 years and we need to start making amends to them. Land claims are just one example of how we can help them as this will give them the land that was taken from them so many years ago. I want to increase the land that the native groups have so they can live their lives as they see fit. I would also allow self-government for the native peoples in a broader role and look into the feasibility of giving them the same rights as a territory of Canada and have an elected group of representatives to address the needs of their peoples. We would also re-draw the electoral districts so there is more representation of the native people in federal politics.

Amateur Sports- I want to increase federal funding to amateur sports athletes and training. Canada should play a lead role in the Olympics as well and our athletes need to be able to train for their events without taking a second or third job just to pay the bills. Canada will help pay for the training facilities and pay the athletes to be able to live while they train. If the athletes want luxuries, then they will have to take a part time job, but we will pay for all their essentials so they will have a lot less to worry about.

Gun Control- The Liberal plan during the last election was good but needs to be increased. There should be a ban on all handguns for everyone except law enforcement and professional shooters. Professional shooters will have to have their guns locked in a safe at the shooting range and will have to be escorted to and from events by police officers to ensure nothing happens to them. There will be no option to use the notwithstanding clause for this as this will be a national law and there will be no exceptions. Handguns are used for only 2 things, competitive shooting and killing other people. We have to find a way to make sure that we keep handguns out of the hands of criminals and this is one major step to do so. We will also increase border security to make sure guns do not come into Canada from the US and also invest in better detection methods to stop guns and dangerous goods from entering the country.

Taxes- Increase the minimum amount that people have to earn before they are taxed. The poorer people of Canada need to be able to pay for their food and their essentials and we need to be able to help them. We will also increase taxes on the richest bracket of people as well to be able to compensate for the lost income and gain additional funds. They are rich people and can afford the extra income that the government will take to help the less fortunate. We will also increase taxes on large businesses to help pay for our initiatives. I also plan to make churches pay taxes as well. This one is controversial but there is no reason why they do not have to pay taxes. They collect large sums of money and that money should be given to the greater good rather than a select few.

Electoral Processes- Keep them as they were last year. They have done a good job for the last 139 years and we should keep them as they are. No fixed terms, no elected senate, no elected judges, no proportional representation. Our country works just fine as it is, and we don't need to change it.

Military- Increase funding so we can equip our troops with the most up to date equipment. We also need to help pay for extra soldiers to help increase our role as peacekeepers in the world. These funds will be used only for peace and not for war with other nations. We are a nation of peace and we need to maintain that role. I would also reduce our role in Afghanistan after our term is up. We will still be there, but only in a supplementary role and we will also help train the Afghani military and police so they can become more self-sufficient.

I will add more as the topics come up but this is a very good start. These are all preliminary ideas and some may be scratched due to economic feasibility. My main goal is to do all this while still being under budget and things will be adjusted to be able to keep that going. Also, these points are just a rough draft and if they were to become an official policy, would be cleaned up to make it a lot more professional and would be re-written to make sure that nobody would be able to find a loophole and exploit it.

It's been a slow news day and I have been quite busy today so sorry for my late post. I am also quite tired now so I am going to keep this brief.

Well, it's official, Paul Martin will be stepping down as leader of the Liberal Party this weekend when he meets with the Liberal execs and the official terms of the leadership race will be discussed. Now I have never been a huge fan of Paul being Prime Minister but I do wish him all the best in his future endeavors. Over the course of the next week, we will most likely see several Liberal MP's throwing in their names as candidates and it will be interesting to see who decides to run the gambit. I would be one of them, however I do not have the money to do so. This still will not stop me from listing my vision of how I think Canada should be governed and tomorrow I will be posting my vision on my blog for all to see. I hope that my postings will get me some backing and I hope it is in the form of monetary payments but I will settle for candidates using my platform as theirs, as long as I get the kudos for it.

This headline roll is worth all the money we spend on the CBC, and we should put more money into keeping Peter Mansbridge looking so damn good.

The next one is right above it. The AltaVista Babel Fish. This little gem allows anyone to change the language of my site to suit their needs. The only thing you have to do is click on the flag and the page will be automatically translated to the requested language.

Now, below the Headline roll is the FeedBlitz e-mail subscriber. This link allows you to subscribe to my site and receive daily e-mails showing my posts. It really helps the lazy people who don't want to actually click on my site, but still want the articles. It also lets you know if there is a new post so you can visit my site and read my posts and respond.

Below the FeedBlitz is ApolloFind Search Bar. He lets you search out any words you want on my blog and view all relevant data about it. So, if you want to see how much profanity I use, then just type in your favorite swear word and presto, you can see all my vulgarity.

Of course below that is the great, all powerful Liblogs. This is a site that shows lots of Liberal bloggers and their posts. It usually refreshes every 2 hours, and might happen faster when it becomes a non-profit corporation.

At the very bottom of my page is my counter. This is very self explanatory so I am not even going to bother aside from the previous statement.

Below that is my Site Meter. He shows the location of who visits my site. It's great to see how many people from the Government of Canada visit your site so you can be prepared for the worst.

Back to the top, you will see my Google AdSense advertiser. This thing attempts to generate money for me so I like it. All the money from AdSense will be going to my electoral campaign so every click counts.

Pushing That Envelope

Sorry about no post yesterday, I was very busy and I didn't have time to get to my compy. Anyways, I am back and with something that will shock all the Cons that read my blog. I am going to criticize the Liberals. Now I know you are asking yourself, but Milan, you're a Liberal, how can you go against your party? Simple, I have free will and we live in a democratic nation.

Now, I know I am beating this thing like a dead horse but I am still discussing Canada's role in Afghanistan. I got a lot of heat regarding my comments a couple of days ago about my views on the increased role in Afghanistan. I am still in firm belief that we should not be in an offensive military role there. My little rant today is targeted at Bill Graham. Now, I do not have 100% definitive proof that Mr. Graham did give the order to make our troops go on the offensive as it was announced by General Hillier on November 25, 2005, which was 2 days after Parliament was dissolved by the Cons, NDP, and the Bloc, but he was in charge of the department before then and it is quite possible that he did let General Hillier go on the offensive. This is quite retarded and I think Mr. Graham is a giant douche if he did allow this. Canada is a nation of peace and we have no right to take lives, no matter who they are. The sanctity of human life is paramount in Canada and now we are exporting the opposite to fledgling democracies. I know you are thinking that the Taliban is evil and must be destroyed, but running around Afghanistan arbitrarily shooting Afghani's as they might be part of the Taliban is still wrong and will only lead to more attacks but this time it will be inside Canada. For every Afghani Canadian soldiers kill, there will be several more that will be outraged by the attack and join the Taliban. Now, do I have a solution to this problem....no, I do not. I do not have a solution, because I don't think there is one. If we turn the other cheek, they will just slap us again, however if we hit back, then they will just kick us in the junk. The only thing that I can think of is to only attack as a retaliatory measure. Do not hunt them down, just wait for them to come after us. It is very dangerous, but if you place buffer zones between the rebuilding crew and possible terrorists, you can keep casualties to a minimum. This way, we don't kill any innocent Afghani's and we are not seen as an aggressor by the Arab community. By constantly shoving peace in their face, the Afghani people will eventually turn and leave the hatred behind them. For hundreds of years the white man has treated blacks and women as second class citizens, but we have managed to eliminate that for the most part. There are still a few dissenters but they are few and far between. We have to give the Afghani people the same chance to turn their hatred around in a peaceful manner that will keep everyone alive and allow us to live as one race on this planet....Human.

Hey Look, it's Day 1 When Harper Didn't Fuck Anything Up...Nevermind

He came so close to doing it too. I was pulling for him like I was pulling for Dubya to handle a disaster correctly and in a timely manner. Unfortunately, The Harp didn't quite make it through the entire day without fucking it up in some manner. Last night, The Harp made a "surprise" visit to Afghanistan to inspect the troops and re-confirm the support for the troops. Now, where The Harp made his mistake is making his "Dubya style" speech when he addressed the troops.

The Harp's speech was designed to stick it to the opposition that we aren't a nation that cuts and runs at the first sign of trouble, and that we are taking a lead on the world stage. Now, I am all for taking the lead on the world stage, but not by being the lead on terrorist hit lists. There are several ways for Canada to be a leader on the world stage, but doing it by being an aggressive nation is not one of them that Canadians truly want. If The Harp wants to be a world leader, then how about doing some humanitarian relief missions with Canada taking the lead. It would be a lot safer, and we won't have extremists plotting to bomb the fuck out of our country. As I stated in previous posts, I am in strong support of our troops overseas but only in a supplementary role. What I want to know is who gave the order for Canada to take the lead in Afghanistan. There is very little info out there on who specifically gave the command to take over the lead in Afghanistan from the US. If anyone knows who was did that, please post in the comments along with a link showing proof. I do want this to be accurate to help inform the people who actually gave the command.

Now, I stated that we should take a commanding role in the world in a more peaceful manner and now here is my plan. Africa has millions of starving people and thousands of them die every year. What Canada needs to do is give debt relief to African nations and send engineers to Africa to irrigate the lands to make sure African families can feed themselves. If Canada took the lead in helping Africa in this matter, then other nations that want to help out will have a peaceful outlet to make a difference. I would prefer The Harp to be going to Somalia to help feed the children over going to Afghanistan to help bomb the crap out of them. Even if The Harp wants to stay in Afghanistan, then at least be there to help rebuild the nation, not tear it down some more. Canada is a nation of peace and we should make sure we keep that status around the world.

Well, we all knew it was coming as it always does. The NDP decided to jump up and remind everyone that they do exist, and how did they do that, by jumping on the bandwagon. Unfortunately, it was the bandwagon that came and left 10 months ago.

Pat Martin, the NDP MP from Winnipeg Centre, decided to speak up like the drunk friend at a party and give his opinion on something that he knows nothing about. The wrong PM is asking for Ethics Commissioner Bernard Shapiro to investigate Belinda Stronach's move from the Cons to the Liberals 10 months ago. I guess they were asleep at the switch when this story came down 10 months ago. Calling for the investigation 10 months ago would have been fine, but it is 10 months, and a new government later and they are asking for the investigation. The only thing I have to say about this is SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!! This is the reason I agreed with Jason Cherniak about his views on the NDP, they are a bunch of useless pricks who think they are better than everyone else but have no knowledge about anything. The wrong PM stated the reason he is asking for this is that he has gotten several e-mails about how the NDP have attacked the Cons about Emerson and left the Liberal get off unscathed. I just think he wasn't able to check his e-mails for 10 months until he accidentally hit the caps lock key again and all of a sudden, his password worked again. There is a time and a place to address a concern and that is at the time it happens. If this is the NDP's thinking, then I just can't wait for them to ask Shapiro to investigate Richard John Cartwright for his defection. Now I would have been for an investigation 10 months ago when Stronach crossed the floor, but since that time, there had been an election, and it wasn't even officially considered unethical by the Ethics Commission until months after the crossing.

Wow!! Just Wow!! The Cons were harping over the whole fiscal imbalance thing and made it a key issue in the January Election. Now, in a statement today, Jim Flaherty now says that the whole fiscal imbalance thing was just a myth. My god, this guy is really freaking dumb. The fiscal imbalance problem is real but not as bad as it was stated by the Cons during the election and not nearly as good as Jimmy Flay is saying. Then again, he didn't do that great of a job as finance minister in Ontario so we all know finances aren't his strong suit.

The fiscal imbalance that Jimmy Flay was talking about is that every province and territory is doing just fine except for Ontario and PEI. Now, last time I checked, Newfoundland wasn't the booming economy that everyone thinks it is, and 15% HST that is in every Atlantic province isn't usually seen as a sign of economic boom. He also stated that addressing the fiscal imbalance wasn't a priority for the federal government which was quite the contrary statement from the election campaign. I guess the Cons wanted us to stand up because lying down clenched your ass cheeks too much.

Here is the Con's stance on fiscal imbalance from their blue book:

In the last eight years, the federal government has amassed enormous surpluses. Meanwhile, many provinces have seen reduced revenues and have had to run deficits in order to pay for education, health, and other social programs. The plan
A Conservative government will:
• Work with the provinces in order to achieve a long-term agreement which would address the issue of fiscal imbalance in a permanent fashion.
• Ensure that any new shared-cost programs in areas of provincial/territorial responsibility have the consent of the majority of provinces to proceed, and that provinces should be given the right to opt out of the federal program with compensation, so long as the province offers a similar program with similar accountability structures.
• Work to achieve with the provinces permanent changes to the equalization formula which would ensure that non-renewable natural resource revenue is removed from the equalization formula to encourage economic growth. Even Ed is Pissed

With the continuing controversy over The Harp/Shapiro/Emerson dealio, Ed Broadbent has put his 2 cents worth into the fiasco. Now Ed was, and still is, for removing Shapiro from office as the Ethics Commissioner, but due to The Harp's sheer incompetence in handling this, Shapiro's job is all but secure. Now, I am on the fence about Shapiro and I am trying to hear both sides before making my decision in regards to whether or not he should still be the Ethics Commissioner but with The Harp making his trademark "I'm an idiot" responses to the allegations, it just makes Shapiro look more and more like a martyr.

This has gotten worse for The Harp and it didn't have to be. Before Shapiro was just going to investigate the deal with Emerson and most likely would have gotten off due to the technicality of Parliament not being in session. Now, The Harp has committed an ethical conflict of interest because he has refused to co-operate. There is no denying this one, it is against the rules to refuse to take part in an Ethics Commission investigation. With The Harp actively looking for a new Ethics Commissioner, it has made him look even worse as he is trying to replace one person for another person who is more likely to see things by his point of view.

I dusted off the Cons blue book and here is their stance on the Ethics Commission:
The plan
A Conservative government will:
• Give the Ethics Commissioner the power to fine violators.
• Prevent the Prime Minister from overruling the Ethics Commissioner on whether the Prime Minister, a minister, or an official is in violation of the Conflict of Interest Code.
• Enshrine the Conflict of Interest Code into law.
• Close the loopholes that allow ministers to vote on matters connected with their business interests.
• End “venetian blind” trusts that allow ministers to remain informed about their business interests, and require all ministerial assets to be placed in truly blind trusts.
• Allow members of the public – not just politicians – to make complaints to the Ethics Commissioner.
• Make part-time or non-remunerated ministerial advisers subject to the Ethics Code.

Now, the second point on this one was the funniest. The Cons will prevent the Prime Minister from overruling the Ethics Commissioner on whether the Prime Minister and a cabinet minister is in violation of the Conflict of Interest Code. Now, what Shapiro should do is fine The Harp, 1 years salary for violating that rule. Unfortunately those mandates aren't in place, and will likely never be in place as it would be dangerous for the Cons political future.

"Harp"ing on Stupidity

The Harp made a couple of stupid remarks today and everyone in the blogosphere has jumped on it. Now, I am all for kicking The Harp when he is down, but there are soooo many other reasons than his slip of the tongue. The Harp said in a statement today:
“March 8 is International Women’s Day—a time to reflect on the vital contributions made by women to the building of this country, and the prosperity and quality of life that have made Canada the envy of the world. And so today represents an excellent opportunity to salute Canadian women.
It is also a chance to reiterate my Government’s determination to provide Canadian women with the security and sense of opportunity to which they aspire, and to reiterate our commitment to working with them to ensure the economic security, timely health care and safe streets that are so vital for raising strong families."
Now, the part that has everyone up in arms is the last part of the second paragraph regarding families. Everyone is saying how The Harp is a chauvinistic pig with those comments but the comments themselves aren’t really sexist. People are just picking out words and creating so much spin that trailer homes are in danger. Now, I am a single male but my thought was that women who are part of a family do in fact care about that family. Since it is woman's rights day, the comment would obviously be directed towards women. Now if The Harp said "Dem's women folks should be chained to a stove and only have a break to birth children" then we can say he is a chauvinistic pig. The Harp has done, and will do, a lot of stupid things for everyone to scream at but this is not one of them.

The next one was in regards to Quebec. The Harp did some more grandstanding in La Bell Province today by visiting Jean Charest at the Legislative assembly. Now, I am probably going to get a lot of flak for this one but what the fuck is he thinking. Quebecers are screaming about equality but they are in fact the province with the most freedoms and perks and now you want to give them more. Now, Quebec does have a different culture than the rest of us, so does BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, Labrador, Nunavut, Northwest Territories, and the Yukon. Also, in each of those provinces/territories there are several separate and distinct cultures. Canada is a multi cultural nation where are differences were celebrated not shunned. Now The Harp wants to give them even more clout by getting them involved in UNESCO. Please, The Harp doesn't give a rats ass about Quebec aside from extra votes. Whenever a Prime Minister tries to deal with Quebec, the only thing they do is throw them more power. Here is a novel idea, ask Quebecers what there beef is with the rest of Canada and try to resolve it. Band-Aids do not work and will only repress the rage until another prominent separatist gets into power and calls another referendum. I invite anyone from Quebec to use my blog to express their concerns/rage/disgust about Canada and let’s try to find a way to resolve it.

How dumb can Iran possibly be? I mean really, when the US is closing in on attacking you, the one thing you don't do is provoke them. In a statement today, Iran suggested that it could cause the US "harm and pain" during discussions at the Atomic Energy Agency. When the nation that you are threatening controls a nation on either side of you and has more soldiers, you don't insult them because that will just get you killed. Why do you think Canada plays nice with the US....well because our too economies are intertwined and we are culturally quite similar, but if we didn't have that, then the surrounding us thing would be the reason. There are times to stand up and there are times to bend over and take it. Guess which one this is? Iran's only hope is the support of Russia and China. The three countries would have a lot to loose if sanctions were placed as they are large trading partners, but the Chinese and the Russians know when to step back to relieve the fears of Armageddon. The US is trying to start world war 3 and the only thing we can do is wait it out for 2 more years until Dubya is out of office.

Terror on War?? 2: Cruise Control

Well, to keep up on the ongoing debate on our Terror on War, The Harp has come out and made a statement regarding the democratic process known as an open debate in parliament in regards to Canada's role in Afghanistan. Of course, he is against any sort of open debate on sending our troops, but he is still in a firm belief in opening up discussions on limiting the rights of the gay community. The second part has nothing to do with the first but I just wanted to remind everyone about it. The Harp reiterated P-Makkie's statement yesterday that talking about Canada's role in Afghanistan will jeopardize their safety, and in true Con fashion, he did not elaborate in any way.

I just have to say it again. CANADIANS AREN'T AGAINST TROOPS BEING IN AFGHANISTAN, THEY ARE AGAINST CANADA BEING IN A COMMAND ROLE AND BEING THE FOCAL POINT OF THE INSERGENT ATTACKS!!!! We had a duty to help the US and we fulfilled it. We have a duty to the world to be in Afghanistan to stabilize the nation and we were doing it. What we don't have a duty to do is lead the war on terrorism. History has accepted the fact that being part of the mob is fine, only leading the mob is wrong.

Now back to The Harp's comments, the first one is so American, you would think that Dick Cheney himself wrote it. This statement was in response to questions by the press about a debate: "I understand the frustrations," he said. "Perhaps the previous government should have had a vote on the deployment, but that was not their decision. The decision was taken and we can't change our opinion when the troops are in danger." First of all, when the Liberals sent the troops to Afghanistan, it was in a supplementary role (minor role for all the Cons out there) with the US leading the military as per our agreements with NATO. Secondly, I thought free will allowed us to change our mind. If our troops are in danger and there are ways to avoid it, then we should contemplate those ideas as a fall back just in case. Finally, we have no purpose running the show in Afghanistan, the ideal group that should be running the show is the Afghanistan government, however there isn't enough stability in the country yet to safely do so.

These types of statements just blow my mind. "It's not the intention of this government to question the particular commitment when our troops are in danger," he said. "Such a debate or such a lack of strength by any of the political parties in Canada will merely weaken the resolve of our troops and will even put our troops in even more danger." Now, war is a very unpopular thing for most people but is understandable for the most part. If people didn't disagree with opinions, then we wouldn't really need a democracy. As I said earlier, denying democratic debate on our role in Afghanistan is more detrimental than actually debating it. At least if the debate is done, we are showing that democracy works. The troops would be better off knowing that there is still a democracy at home that they are fighting for. I am speaking for a lot of people when I say that we want the troops to stay in Afghanistan, but only to help out the Afghanistan government in a supplementary role. If the current campaign was led by the UN with close input by the Afghanistan government, this would be more acceptable and also less dangerous. Why less dangerous you ask, because our name is not on the front page as the leaders of the infidels invading their country.

The final quote I am going to discuss is a long one but is still ridiculously stupid.
"The exact involvement of our commitment does change every year or so, depending on what obligations we take on or don't take on, and we'll be reviewing those obligations at the appropriate times in the future. "
"But as I say, we will not be in any way backtracking from an obligation which has been undertaken."
To do so, he said, "would not only not be in the best interests of Canada's international reputation or of our obligation to the people of Afghanistan and to the international community, it would be a betrayal of the men and women, the brave men and women we have in the field, who are danger.
"So we will not be revisiting any decisions until the time when those decisions would normally come up for review."
So what The Harp is saying is this, there are times and places for opinions to change and that is called an election campaign. If your decisions do not change while the situations do, you will die. It is as simple as that. Analyzing and adjusting is the basis of strategic military planning. If you do not follow this, you will get another Vietnam/Iraq on your hands. I am unsure who gave the okay to let Canadian forces lead the Afghanistan forces and if anyone does know, can you let me so I can bash them on my blog. It may be Liberal, but I am not 100% certain. The Harp is just doing one stupid thing after another and Canadians are starting to wake up to what exactly they did on January 23, 2006. If The Harp keeps it up, then that loud thumping noise you will be hearing will be every Canadian bashing their head repeatedly into a wall for voting for this guy.

Terror on War??

Peter McKay is starting to show his true colours. P-Makkie released a statement earlier today about Canada's new role in Afghanistan. Now I am for lending support to the Americans on their attack on Afghanistan but that's all I am in favour of. Canada had an obligation as a part of NATO to help the US retaliate after September 11, but our new role as the lead in the rebuild/security effort is not something that Canada should be doing. We are a nation of peacekeepers and as such should not be leading an occupation force in another country.

Now, the statement that P-Makkie put out was in regards to opening up the role of Canadian troops in Afghanistan to questioning in Parliament. His response to this is as follows: "We do not want to jeopardize or in any way have a psychological or a real impact on the troops who are in Afghanistan." This is just plain wrong. First of all, parliamentary discussions about the role of the military has no effect in the psychological impact of the troops. Most troops don't even know that there will be any discussion or will know that any discussion would occur. As for the real impact, the only real impact would be withdrawal, or role change of the military personnel serving in Afghanistan. The purpose of these discussions would be to democratically weigh the pros and cons of Canada's increased role in Afghanistan and possible effects of the increase. If those discussions make a psychological impact on the troops, it would be "So it's a democracy we're fighting for???"

My largest problem with the increased role is that it may lead us down a road where we could be targeted by a terrorist attack. The odds aren't that likely, but would increase every day we occupy Afghanistan as the lead force. This war was supposed to increase our national safety and with this increase, has done the opposite effect. Our national safety has been secured not by our military force, but as our role as peacekeepers and peacemakers. To be the one's with the sword, we risk an attack on our country, which we are not prepared for in the least.

A Chance to do Good

Some pretty big news came down the pipeline today by the UN. It seems that the UN Food Agency does not have enough food to help the people of Kenya. If they do not get the food they need, then million of people will starve causing a major catastrophe. It seems that Kenya has had a rather large drought this year and without the help of the UN, there will be a catastrophe of epic proportions. The drought is not just in Kenya but most of the north eastern part of Africa. Now, Canada has a large abundance of food in both wheat and cattle, if we give it to the UN to help feed the African people, we would save millions of lives. The US could also give money to the UN to pay for the food as well. This is a chance for world leaders to step up and show that they care about the people of the world and help out. After the food is given, we could send engineers over there to figure out a way to permanently irrigate the area or even all of Africa to stabilize the region.

This is a time to act people, and if we don't do something soon....it would be disastrous on a global scale.

WHY THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING SO LONG TO ELECT A NEW LEADER!!!!! I mean what the hell are you guys thinking!!!! The Con's government will most likely fall this year and now you are going to hold the elections for the leadership of the party in 2007??? I love the Grits and all but this is just plain retarded.

The Liberals are starting to test the leadership waters today in Nova Scotia at the annual NS Liberal meeting. I have no issue with them testing the waters, as you get a bit of an understanding on what your chances are but why the hell is the LPC waiting to elect the new leader. With the LPC divided right now, there is no stability and the people won't rally behind us. With all the crap that The Harp has done to this point, an election will be inevitable and the LPC will be calling a leadership election in November or February 2007?? The Grits really need to get their heads back into the game and start the leadership ball rolling already. Not only get the leadership ball started, but leave the leadership candidacy open for anyone to run without a large admin fee. The Liberals need a new blood and new life and we need someone who will rally the people together. I still nominate myself, but as I stated earlier, the whole money issue just makes it too bloody unlikely that I will be able to do it for at least 10 years.

When things start to suck, find yourself a scapegoat and run with it. Now I am not the biggest King Ralph fan, in fact I hate the guy, but this is ridiculous. The whole book throwing thing was wrong, also very funny, but if you are going to get rid of King Ralph, there are a lot more reasons than this. I may be out on a limb here but I think King Ralph did this just to deflect some of the pressure off of The Harp's problems. Either that or he's hitting the bottle again. If it is the latter then I feel sorry for him but if it was the first one, then you know how desperate things are getting in the Con's camp.

These are the reasons I went from being a supporter of the Reform Party, straight into the hands of the glorious Liberal Party....well that and the guaranteed job availability (and I guess you could throw Stockwell Day talking into the mix as well). I think that the first day of parliament, the opposition should call a vote of non-confidence and get another election before the Con's do any damage to the country. I know you are thinking that we can't go into an election without a leader, but if all the Liberals just say that I am their new leader, then we can live in a perfect 40+ years of Liberal rule. Now that would be perfect. Stable job, centrist views, having a nation that is leading the world, not following America. Ah, we can only dream...or get me into office, whichever is good for you.

In a very amusing article here, it seems that the Harp is anti-ethics commission. This just blows my mind on how unbelievably easy it will be to win the next election. This is the worst case of self destruction since Kim Campbell's government. I am just waiting for him to kill a black crippled baby and then we can elect a towel to run against the Cons, and win a majority government. The Ethics Commissioner, Bernard Shapiro, received several complaints about Emerson's move and the Harp now has a problem with the Ethics Commissioner doing his job.

The Cons election platform was centered around accountability in office and to bring ethics back into government. In his first month as Prime Minister, the Harp has went against his elected senate stance, bribed an MP to cross the floor so he could have the seats needed to work with the NDP, appointed lobbyists to the Privy Council, appointed a military lobbyist to head the military, and refused to answer questions from the Ethics Commissioner in regards to the Grewal affair. Next election the Liberals better point this out to the people to make sure they win the majority. This is not the time for the Liberals to take the high road, they have to push this hard so the election will be a cake walk for the grits.

Oh Ralphie, You So Crazy

Yesterday, King Ralph finally introduced his "third way" health care plan with quite a bit of controversy. His 10 point "solution" is as follows along with commentary.

1. Putting Patients at the Center New directions and strategies for the continuous improvement and development of the health system will give priority to the interests of the people being served. Albertans will be encouraged to play an active role in maintaining and improving their own health and in deciding on appropriate care and treatment.

Translation, look after your own health, because we ain't gonna do squat for you.

2. Promoting Flexibility in Scope of Practice of Health Professionals Alberta’s new legislation governing the health professions provides greater flexibility in terms of the scope of practice of the various professions as a means of promoting greater innovation. Alberta will continue to work with health professions to take full advantage of the opportunities that the Health Professions Act has made possible. Team approaches to care will be promoted in areas that provide the greatest benefit. Mechanisms will be developed to determine the most responsible caregiver in each particular situation and to ensure that care is seamless and meets high standards of proficiency and quality.

So, you say you are a neurosurgeon and you say you got skin...guess that means you are now a dermatologist as well.

3. Implementing New Compensation Models Alberta will develop alternative compensation structures and models that provide incentives for quality of care, efficiency and inter-professional collaboration. These compensation models should be based on the achievement of measurable health outcomes and compliance with indicators of quality. New compensation models should also contribute to recruitment and retention strategies and take into account changes in clinical practice resulting from such initiatives as telehealth and the Electronic Health Record. Successful implementation of alternative compensation models also will require consultation and negotiation with professional associations.

Now, to save money, every service is now considered non-vital and as such, you can now charge whatever you want. Soooooooo......MONEY FIGHT!!!!!

4. Strengthening Inter-regional Collaboration Regional health authorities and Alberta Health and Wellness will collectively plan for the delivery of health services and the establishment of shared service networks throughout the province. Building on the successful implementation of the heart institute and the bone and joint institutes, Alberta will continue to support the establishment of such institutes so as to combine leading edge research with advanced clinical care.

So......I guess that means that it is business as usual

5. Reshaping the Role of Hospitals The collective planning process between regional health authorities and Alberta Health and Wellness will include options for changing the role of urban and rural hospitals so as to provide better and more responsive service to Albertans. Changes may include shifting some day surgery and ambulatory care services to community settings, delivering more services through private surgical facilities, linking some rural hospitals to urban hospitals for the provision of less complicated acute or follow-up care and converting small rural hospitals to centres of multi-disciplinary primary care. If necessary, regulatory changes will be made.

6. Establishing Parameters for Publicly Funded Health Services Public funding will still be used for the essential kinds of health services. Alberta will build on the work already completed to implement the recommendations of the Expert Advisory Panel to Review Publicly Funded Health Services. Services and benefits which are discretionary, are not of proven benefit or are experimental in nature may not qualify for public funding.

This one frightens me. This one gives the Alberta government carte blanche to tell us what is necessary and what is not. Now, if you tear your muscle, you would now have to pay for the surgery since it is not vital to have that surgery.

7. The problem is that King Ralph just wants to make money and screw the rest of us. I wish someone would slap King Ralph and drive some sense into him. Alberta has a 6 billion surplus which could be put into health care so we could open up the hospitals that King Ralph closed a decade earlier. Why am I the only one who sees this??

Stephen Harper talks the talk, but is still hesitant about walking the walk. The Harp announced today that the next Supreme Court Judge will be going in front of a panel to answer questions. The funny thing is, that the panel has no power whatsoever as the Harp is the only one who will choose if the judge will be appointed. This is a strong contrast from their election promises where the Supreme Court Judges would be voted on by the House of Commons. Well, at least this time he came close to an election promise. Having this panel is almost as effective as voting in a Cuban General Election. Although smoke is more transparent than drywall, the amount the Cons are pumping isn't making that distinction any easier. Now, I am a supporter of the current appointment system as it has worked just fine for the last 139 years but adding this "Show and Tell" step is just a waste of money if the process has absolutely no power in choosing the candidate.

Comedy; It is Some Funny Stuff

I have finally come up with another list of the top and bottom 5 listings, and this one is for comedy. For this list, I am going to exclude cartoons as they will have their own list down the line. So, without further adieu, here is the list.

Top 5 Comedies:
5.Seinfeld-I thought it was okay but due to the massive appeal of the show, I decided to give it the number 5 spot.
4.Monty Python-There isn't a single person in the world who can not quote a piece of a Monty Python sketch. The only reason it isn't higher is because some of the sketches were pure misses which dropped them down a notch.
3.Fraiser-This show is the smartest show on TV...or at least it was. Got cancelled 2 years ago, but it did have a good 11 season run. It won craploads of Emmys and is one of the very few spin offs that were better than the original.
2.Red Dwarf-Also one of the best Sci-Fi shows of all time, this show just rocks. Funny as hell and every season was funny. Movie may come out and if it does, it may move up to number one.
1.Married... With Children-There is a reason this show lasted 10 seasons. This show is one of 2 reasons Fox is still on the air and brought about the low-brow comedy genre that we know today. Even the critics who panned it for being too low brow at the beginning were praising it by the fifth season. The series didn't really get good until Steve Rhodes left and Jefferson D'Arcy came in. Any dysfunctional family show since then has drawn very close parallels to this show and there have been several deliberate knock offs all over the world.

Bottom 5 Attempts at Comedy:
5.Roseanne-This crap was supposed to prove that being poor could be funny, but it just proved that it is as sad as everyone with some money thinks it is. Creepy son, grunge daughter who marries her older sister's husbands brother, and she left home when she was sixteen to get married. The only thing that was missing, was guns, bingo, and another 15 kids to complete the whole stereotype.
4.Ernest(insert retarded line here)-Putting an unfunny character from TV commercials into completely ridiculous settings that make absolutely no sense. That sounds like an Oscar gold mine...then again I have just snorted a rather lethal dose of cocaine and my brain is currently cracking at the seams from all the hemorrhaging. The first movie wasn't funny and nobody went to see it so why did they make 9 more? Seriously, I want to know
3.Anything with Hulk Hogan-The guy can barely wrestle so they decided to put him on a set to do some comedy. What's worse is the fact that they got the worst scripts possible and got him to apishly work his way through it.
2.The Tom Green Show-This show dropped Canada's approval rating around the world because of its suck factor(both figurative and literal suckage) not once did I ever laugh during something Tom Green did. The only reason he is not number one is he gained some of my respect by accepting his Raspberry Award for Freddy Got Fingered.
1.Full House-God this show sucked. No matter how you look at it, there was nothing good to ever come out of this show. The acting was horrible, the plots were extremely weak, the endings were so sappy it actually caused tooth decay, and it spawned the billions of Mary-Kate and Ashley related crap that has been in existence.

Honorable mentions
5.SNL-The show's been on for 30 years and have acted as a spring board for a lot of today's Hollywood big shots (Chris Rock, Mike Myers) their mediocre (David Spade, Eddie Murphy) and their crap (Chris Kattan, Molly Shannon) The show has gone downhill since the mid 90's which is why it is not in the top 5.
4.In Living Color-This show pole-vaulted several comedians whose movies didn't suck.....well, Jim Carey's career anyways.
3.All in the Family-It proved that racism and bigotry can be funny....and actually helped de-sensitize the world in terms of racism.
2.Friends-I have them so I didn't really watch the show that much when it first came out but have been able to watch it more since it is in syndication. Just kind of hard to make a show about 20 something’s hanging out when all of your staff is pushing 40.
1.Any comedy cancelled by FOX-I have no idea why FOX likes canceling funny shows. If you want a complete list of them, watch the season 4 opener of Family Guy and add Arrested Development.

Sci Fi: So good, So nerdy

Top 5 Sci Fi Shows:
5.Battlestar Galactica(new series)-good right now, but it may head down the religious path and be a slightly grittier version of Mormons in space.
4.Babylon 5-Only went 5 seasons, but the last one was quite awful, can still barely get through watching it. Spin off sucked harder.
3.Red Dwarf-With out a doubt the funniest Sci-Fi comedy ever and one of the funniest T.V. shows ever. Season 8 was kind of a let down but got cancelled too early to figure out where they were going with it. Movie may bring it up higher if it ever comes out.
2.Star Trek TNG-Same reason as you. 5 great seasons, would be higher if the first 2 seasons didn't suck as much. Didn't mind the movies as much as they did kill off Kirk and Data. Killing off 2 iconic characters moved them up.
1.Stargate(Entire collection)-Movie was okay, Series rocks, spin off isn't horrible. The reason they are number one is the fact that they had FREAKIN' MACGUYVER, and they wanted to name their space ship Enterprise.

Bottom 5:
5.Roswell-How this show made it to 5 seasons is beyond me. To date I haven't been able to make it through an entire episode.
4.Battlestar Galactica-Would be higher up but several of the original members are making guest spots on the new series so it lessened their suck appeal
3.Firefly-Gay space cowboy's eating pudding...woot. There was a reason this show got the axe.
2.Star Wars-Higher up on my list because I am including the god awful made for TV Star Wars movies as well. Damn stupid Ewoks holding walkie-talkies.
1.Star Trek Voyager-The series that proves bringing in somebody hot won't make your series good. That is why Dark Angel isn't on my top 5 best list, and Jeri Ryan's enormous rack couldn't save this show. If only they killed off Janeway.

Honorable mentions, in no particular order:
5.Earth:Final Conflict-One of the best shows nobody watched. I wish this show eventually gets the credit it deserves
4.Andromeda-Also a good show, not great but good. Season 5 confused the hell out of me but that’s because I have yet been able to watch the season opener or the second last episode.
3.Dr Who-Good show for being old and British. Haven't seen the new series yet, if good then maybe it could go top 5.
2.Star Trek-Good overacted show. Love...to watch...the...bad acting.
1.Farscape-Great show, good acting, movie was great, too bad nobody watched it and it only lasted 5 seasons.

I was surfing the interweb and was looking at the new RadioShack website. There, I saw this page of their flyer. Now I was looking at it for a few seconds and was thinking that there was something wrong with this image. It took me a couple of seconds to figure it out but when I did I laughed for quite some time. I am issuing a challenge to anyone else to find out what is wrong with this image. To Pod or not to Pod...

To change things a bit I decided to make this post a comparison of mp3 players and which one is the best on the market. Now, I have had several years of experience in this field and have used almost every unit on the market so my opinions are quite valid and should give you a lot of weight in your mp3 player purchases.

First off you have to determine what type of mp3 player you want. By this I mean weather you want a flash type of mp3 player or a hard drive type of mp3 player. The differences between the 2 are: (note, there are cd mp3 players as well but they're a dying breed so they won't be discussed)

Flash mp3 players - are smaller units with a lot smaller amount of space for music. They are cheaper and their battery life is a lot better then the hard drive types but they do not have the extra options that the hard drive types. Some flash drives do have expansion capabilities but this feature has been phased out of most models. They are more resilient to abuse but with its small size it does make it more likely to be abused.

Hard Drive mp3 players - are a lot larger units which can store a lot more music and most of them can store other items as well like videos, pictures, or computer files. The battery life is poor but has been improving over the last couple of years. As flash drives can store hours worth of music, hard drive players can store day’s worth of music. Video playback is the newest thing which most companies now have a video version of mp3 players. They are more likely to be damaged as companies have sacrificed durability for size.

Now the first thing you should think about when you are in the market for an mp3 player is how many hours of music you want to have access to. Companies always show how many songs that you can store but that is a relatively moot statement as songs will vary between times by a very large margin. Always ask how many hours of music it will play back at 128 bit quality. This is the standard cd quality of music in the mp3 format which is what the majority of mp3's are recorded in. The easiest way to figure this out is with my handy little chart:

64MB -1 hour 1GB -16 hours 20GB -320 hours
128MB -2 hours 2GB -32 hours 30GB -480 hours
256MB -4 hours 4GB -64 hours 40GB -640 hours
512MB -8 hours 5GB -80 hours 60GB -960 hours

Now that you have picked the size of your mp3 player you now have to decide what brand of mp3 player you want to get. There is a huge difference between manufacturers of mp3 players in terms of quality, options, and battery life. Here is a list of the companies and their pro's and cons:

Apple:
iPod Shuffle-good little unit, durable and quite inexpensive for the amount that it holds (512MB & 1GB) and has the basic functionality of a larger iPod but without any of the bell and whistles. The major problems with the shuffle is it's low battery life compared to the other flash drive mp3 players and the unit doesn't have an LCD screen so you cannot see what is playing.
iPod Nano-This is the true entry level iPod on the market as it does almost everything that it's bigger brother does but in a smaller size (1GB, 2GB, & 4GB) The Nano is actually a flash type player but has the functionality of a hard drive type. The only problems with the Nano is it only has a 14 hour battery life, doesn't play videos, and is prone to scratches but it could be remedied by using a protective screen film to stop it.
iPod (Video) - The actual name for the unit is just iPod but the new iPod's have video playback which is the reason why it's been nicknamed iPod Video. These come in 30GB and 60GB sizes and are the creme-de-la-creme of mp3 players. Access to the largest online music store, stunning screen resolution, click-wheel control, built in mini games, video playback and the prestige of owning one are reasons enough to get an iPod but the biggest reason to own an iPod of any type is....Podcasting!!! Podcasting is the greatest thing to hit technology since the web itself was created. What is podcasting you ask? Podcasting is a distribution of audio and video files over iTunes for virtually any topic for free. That’s right, FREE!!! Everyone is jumping on the bandwagon from the obvious tech shows, to musicians, to even movie producers who are creating journals of their lives or latest projects. If you are looking for a hard drive type of player, this is the one you should get. The smaller ones will play the audio podcasts but with it's limited size it makes it harder to store all the files on your iPod. Now for the downsides. There aren't many but they are there. They are not cheap, in fact they are the most expensive on the market, but you are paying for the quality. The iPod's battery life is rather low, 14 hours for the 30GB (2 hour video playback), 20 hours for the 60GB (3 hour video playback) due to the high resolution LCD screen and its backlight. The iPod is like all the other models as it is so shiny that scratches show up quickly on them but if you take good care of them, they don't show up. The video formats that it shows is also very limited but could be fixed with firmware updates if Apple actually does it but most likely won't until the next generation.

Creative:
MuVo-This is their entry level players which are flash based mp3 players. The players come in several shapes and sizes and have various options. Some have colour screens, some only monochrome, some have none. Some have built in batteries, some don't. some have fm radio, some don't. They also vary in size from 128MB up to 5GB in storage. The units generally have a good battery life, however if you get the colour screen ones or the video ones, the life drops dramatically. The biggest problem with the MuVo's and any Creative product is quality. Every model of Creative mp3 players that I have seen has had issues. If it's not battery door, it's audio problems, or LCD problems. This shouldn't be happening to a company with the prestige that Creative has but they can't make a stable model of mp3 players if their lives depended on it.
Zen-Is their drive type mp3 player. As with the MuVo, there are several versions of the Zen. There are lots of standards but they do have a couple of models of video mp3 players. Both of the units do play a variety of video formats including DivX which is very cool, but battery life still is not that great (13 hours music-4 hour video) These are newer players so the reliability issue is still up in the air but if it still uses the same architecture that the previous models used, stay away from them as well.

iRiver:
Flash Drives-These are the top of the line flash drive units. They have superb quality with them and the battery life on the units is the best in the industry (some models have upwards of 45 hours of battery life) If you are getting a flash type player, this is the one to get. The only drawback is the lack of accessories for the units in both first and third party. Once they get some recognition they will have this problem solved.
Hard Drives-Also among the top of the line in this department. They do play more formats than the iPod but there are three problems with these units is little accessories, smaller size than the iPod (20GB max), and no podcasting. The first two problems are minor but the no podcasting is the only reason to avoid the unit and go with the iPod.

RCA:
Lyra-Without a shadow of doubt the crappiest mp3 players on the market today. There are so many issues for quality, it is impossible to fathom why these are still on the market. RCA is the reason why jokes about American electronics are so funny and true. If you guys get anything from this it is that you should not buy RCA for any reason except as a joke or a gift to someone you hate.

Others:
There are several other companies that make mp3 players including Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, Toshiba, Centrios & NexxTech, Sandisk, mobiBLU, and several others. Now each of them has their quirks, both positive and negative, but they aren't considered big shots in the mp3 market. Sony is too proprietary, Panasonic and Toshiba don't have the quantity in North America, Samsung and Sandisk are very plain units...nothing wrong with them...just plain, NexxTech & Centrios have quality issues but not as bad as RCA, mobiBLU is too small a company and do not have a real line up. Until these companies get serious with the mp3 market, they won't be players in it.

So when it comes down to it, if you are going to buy an mp3 player, use my guide to help you out. You may agree with my opinion or be wrong with yours but in the end it will always be your decision and hopefully this post will help you get some more information before spending your money.

This is going to be the headline for the next election campaign as the NDP have booted their biggest supporter Buzz Hargrove. This is one of the biggest fuck ups that the dippers have done since creating the NDP. Booting your biggest supporter with the largest union representation is almost as retarded as saying you are for accountability, for elected senates, for a transparent government and throwing it all out the window during the first day in office. Now, since nobody else is going to do it, I officially state that I will be attempting to seek a nomination for leader of the Liberal Party of Canada. Right now, anyone can win the Prime Ministers job and I was going to wait 10-15 years but the position is available so I am going to attempt to run for office now. For all the big shots in the party that didn't want to run for the job, you can give me the money that you were considering using to run to help with my campaign. I only need the one nomination and we will have a Liberal Majority government for the next 40 years when I retire at the age of 65.

Tit v. Tat: A Retrospective on the Jackassary of Hypocrisy

A lot of things go together very well like white & rice, gaming & Sony, prostitutes & herpes, and for endless bickering, religion and free speech. This is a finer line than happy endings at massage parlors. This is the reason we created such a thing as tolerance. (Sorry, trying to change the advertising on the top of my page) What this does is allow for free speech but puts up that barrier to stop people from crossing that line. The reason I started this was because of the breaking news story from several days ago about some cartoons that were published several months ago. Now, it is true that depicting the Prophet Mohammed is blasphemy in the Islamic religion, but then again so is committing violence, so their view is not absolute as their beliefs are also not absolute. Does this mean that I am taking the side of free speech....No, I am not really taking sides in this one because this is not a "support the war or you don't support the troops" kind of argument. This one is a huge grey area situation where the line is so fine that it is impossible to be seen. Free speech is an absolute but when that was created, the founders of the idea had the common sense to think that people would use common sense when exercising that right. How wrong they were. People will do anything to be famous and famous people will do crazier things to become even more famous...like Tom Cruise. Having your own opinion is fine, having a healthy discussion or debate about said opinion is fine, doing something that you know will stir up outrage and mass protests to a people who aren't happy with you already...Darwinian.

Stephen Harper has announced his cabinet for his 6 months in office as Prime Minister and I have made my triumphant return to blogging by critiquing the members he chose in alphabetical order:

Rona Ambrose-Minister of the Environment: The woman who stood up in parliament and attacked Canadian Hero Ken Dryden in regards to the national child care program by insinuating that he was a sexist pig. She also managed to put back the woman’s movement 10 years because of that remark as it was sexist that only working women raise kids when there are plenty of single dads who would also need the child care program and men in general have a say in family issues. My question is why you would put somebody from Alberta who is a big supporter of the oil industry as Minister of the Environment....unless her job will be how to ruin it more.

John Baird-President of the Treasury Board: The guy who caused the workfare debacle in the Ontario government, made false claims about how many people got jobs from workfare, forced a rate hike on energy prices in Ontario, and refused to cancel a contract with a Bermuda based company that found a loophole to allow them to charge over $250/hour to upgrade the welfare systems computers. The only thing he does have going for him is his support for same sex marriage....but that really won't help him with overseeing government expenditures.

Maxime Bernier-Minister of Industry: No political experience whatsoever and not enough in the upper echelon of business to give him this prestigious of a title. Maybe in a few years...but not now.

Jean-Pierre Blackburn-Minister of Labour: Okay, they got one right. The perfect pick for the Minister of Labour

Lawrence Cannon-Minister of Transport: Good man, Great prestige, wrong party, wrong post. Should be Minister of Industry

Michael Chong-Queens Privy Council President, Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, & Minister of Sports: Decent man, nothing wrong with him privately. Better suited for Heritage Minister or Citizen & Immigration Minister.

Tony Clement-Minister of Health: The man who FUCKED OVER OHIP, is now the Minister of Health for Canada. Kiss health care in Canada goodbye. The man cut pay of nurses so badly that they have to work 2 jobs just to make ends meet. They also cut spending to long term health care so prisoners in Ontario live better off then the elderly. Bravo....A guy who couldn't get elected in one riding, so he went into another riding where his wife's family is prominent to very narrowly get elected and destroyed health care in Ontario is now our Minister of Health which Harper wants to fix....by destroying it.

Stockwell Day-Minister of Public Safety & COMPLETE WACKJOB: Now the wackjob is not an official Parliamentary title but it's true. An ultra right-wing religious nutcase is now in charge of our safety. We will have a prayer shield to cover Canada in case of attack, Hang all prisoners, round up all the non Christians with planted vials of crack, and ban gays as being a national security risk. At least CSIS will be on the same brainwave with the guy.

David Emerson-Minister of International Trade: Good pick for the job. Hypocritical for picking him. Power hungry with no intention of ever giving it up at the expense of his constituency.

Diane Finley-Minister of Human Resources: She has worked for years to take away jobs from the government with their secure pay and great benefits and gave them to third party groups where money is the only answer...at least it will give her more work to do. This could only be topped by Hurricane Katrina being elected Mayor of New Orleans

Jim Flaherty-Minister of Finance: Make the rich richer, the poor poorer, then jail them for being homeless, cut funding to the prison system. Those are qualities I want to see in the guy who manages our countries finances. Stupid douche-bag. God, a man who helped make Ontario bankrupt (Bob Rae did a lot as well) is now in charge of our money.

Peter Mackay-Minister of Foreign Affairs: Nothing all that wrong with the guy. Breaks up with his girlfriend because she supports another political party. Might have to go gay after the Conservative Party runs the country just to get some action. Still got an issue with his vote against child pornography laws

Rob Nicholson-House Leader: One of two MP's that have served in a Cabinet position before. Got ousted during Kim Campbell's minute of terror and couldn't get elected for 10 years until 2004. Could do a good job at leading the house...time will tell.

Gordon O'Connor-Minister of Defense: He was only a low level General in the military but better than anyone else they got. He was the brainchild for the cons military proposals during the election and we all know how well that is.

Bev Oda-Minister of Canadian Heritage: Good choice. Voted into the Canadian Broadcasters Hall of Fame.

Jim Prentice-Minister of Indian Affairs: First off, the title of this position should be changed to Minister of
Aboriginal Affairs. Secondly, I like the guy, he is a moderate who supports human rights and stood up against Concerned Christians Canada (The KKK for Gays)

Carol Skelton-Minister of Revenue: Poor choice. Should have got an accountant or at least a lawyer for this position....somebody who understands taxation.

Monte Solberg-Minister of Immigration: If you're gay, you're deported. If you're not Christian, you're deported...kinda odd with the whole Solberg name but you know....The guy is borderline mentally incapable of breathing. His campaign budget doesn't make sense in the whole fiscally plausible sense, has no economic education, and he thinks he did a good job, like FEMA or the war in Iraq.

Chuck Strahl-Minister of Agriculture: Better job for Carol Skelton. Should survive the six months till the next election. Should have been Minister of Health, would be more ironic.

Greg Thompson-Minister of Veteran Affairs: Won't enjoy the job for long as he will most likely be cut as it is purely a social spending position.

Vic Toews-Minister of Justice: Hiring a known criminal as your justice minister.....guess that works. Guy is a borderline nutcase who wants to put homosexuals into camps to get them out of the general population. Wait, if he reads this he will execute me.....Vic Toews is great. Good Guy.

This is going to be my last election post until the next one in 6 months.

Rondo Thomas is the reason why I crusaded against the election of the Conservative Party in the last election. He, and about 100%..ish of the party is the ultra-right-wing-kill-all-the-brownies-put-the-heathens-into-camps-super-conservatives who carry so much hate in them, you would think they were pure evil instead of the men of god that they are. Okay, we all know religion is a complete joke, and if you think any different, you are going to your respective hell. I am not saying that you are wrong, just that I am always right and if you views differ from mine......well you get the idea without me having to say it. If you don't believe that religion is fake, just look at the church. The Catholic church has abolished purgatory from all books, as it was too difficult to explain to people and it forces you to take sides. Now if a religion can change the rules on the fly, you got to ask the question of it's legitimacy.

Okay, went on a bit of a tangent there but my original point was this........wait........OH FUCK, I FORGOT WHAT IT WAS.......Oh yeah, now I remember, these people want to take their minority views and impose them on the majority of people. For example, remove the rights of gays and lesbians, remove the rights of women to have an abortion, bring back the death penalty (it wasn't in their platform, but you all know it's coming) and give large tax breaks to the richest 10% of the population. Well, the Conservatives said that their tax cuts are non-negotiable, so you all know what that means...ELECTION IN 6 MONTHS!! YAY!!! Saying that their tax cuts are non-negotiable in a minority government where every other party is against said cuts means we are back to the booths after their first budget.

I was watching this new fangled magic picture box called a TV today and this thing called a "commercial" came on. This one was a very odd one and made me very angry but I couldn't place where my anger should be focused on. The commercial in question is the new Wendy's commercial where a guy goes up to the counter, wants to order a hamburger but he is unable to because it is fishburger day. They get into an argument, and I die a little inside.

First of all, HOW FUCKING DUMB ARE YOU THAT YOU CAN'T FIGURE OUT THE CONCEPT OF A DAILY SPECIAL!!!! I mean really, the current day dictates what is on sale. If it is day "x" then you get product "x" cheaper. If you don't want that special, ORDER SOMETHING ELSE!!! You have to pay more, but that is the concept of a sale. If it was supposed to be that price every day, THEN IT'S NOT A FUCKING SALE!!! I personally want everyone who reads this blog, and lives in a city that has a Wendy's, to go there, order a 3/4lb bacon double cheeseburger, and demand that they sell it to you for 99 cents because their commercial said so.

Well everyone, it's time to put the final dagger into the Harper campaign by recapping everything that the Cons stand for.

Corruption:
The Cons will not stand idly by and let the Liberals get the upper hand in the corruption market. If they get elected, they will make everyone forget about the small amount of corruption that they did by creating a whole new, dark, evil corruption that will cause the apocalypse and end the world.

Budget:
The Cons will cut all of the social spending and give all of the money to the richest people in the country so they can buy a new ivory backscratcher.

Human Rights:
The Cons will remove all human rights from everyone and force them to work for the major companies as slaves without any protection from the environment and control breeding so they only breed the largest, dumbest people to keep their iron rule. They will also put every non-christian into camps to keep them away from the "pure" people and cause several "accidents" to weed out the population

Environment:
The Cons will chop down all the trees, remove all environmental controls on business, sell all our oil and water to the US and stand on top of parliament hill with CFC aerosol cans and spray them upwards just for good measure.

Foreign Policy:
The Cons will sell Canada to the US for beads and blankets filled with small pox. The small pox will not do anything as it has been immunized in Canada, but in a few years, all new children will be killed as they have not been immunized. They will also tell every country that does not believe in christianity that they are all heathens and they will all die by the hand of god. This will cause a backlash from every other religion and everyone will nuke Canada, thus leaving it a smoldering ruin.

Crime:
The Cons will implement the one strike and you're dead policy, which is quite self-explanatory. If you commit any crime, you get hanged. Now you might say that capital punishment is illegal, but when you rule, you make the rules.

Native Rights:
Standard Con job that they used for the last 139 years.

Employment:
If you want a job, you must move to Alberta, the oil reserves will last forever.

Quebec:
Ship all French speaking Canadians to France, cause boat "accident", problem solved.

Immigration:
Allow anyone with money to come in, take the money of all the non-white christians, and send rest to camps.

Now, one or two of these may be an exaggeration, but I don't live in the past so I won't read them again and correct them. The message from me is this, unless you are an extreme right-wing white male christian, vote Liberal or else you will die a horrible, painful death.

Before I begin, I would first like to congratulate one person who, in my humble opinion, has taken the Conservative party down in the polls with his intelligent, well thought out reporting on his web log or "blog" as he calls it. (I personally think that the term he created won't catch on but he insists it will) This person is.....ME! Yes, I personally have taken down the Conservatives "Jomentum" (Also my term) with my stellar journalistic integrity... and rugged good looks. Lets all take a minute to thank me for putting a dent in their shiny baby/puppy armour that they wrap themselves in to protect themselves from the non-believers, by sending me lots of money so I can stay at home and do this all the time, and buy Candy...and I am not talking about the food.

Today I am going to talk about the Conservatives pledge to limit the rights of Canadians. Without even talking about a vote for Conservatives equals a vote for the republicans, the Conservatives have pledged in both press conferences and in their blue book that they will repeal the rights of Gays and Lesbians to marry. The ability of Gays and Lesbians to marry is their Constitutional Right and is also their right as human beings to do so. There are a lot of people who say that they are against their Gay and Lesbian "friends" marrying because the definition of marriage in between a man and a woman. These people are simply Anti-Gay hate mongers. You don't like it, too freakin' bad 'cause you are...bitches. Allowing Gays and Lesbians to marry is just like allowing women to have abortions, vote, own property, be considered as a person, allowing black people to go to public schools, ride on the front of the bus, use any public toilets and water fountains, vote, own property, or the right not to be property. The Conservatives will eliminate the right for Gays and Lesbians to marry, he will eliminate the right for a woman to choose if they have an abortion, and I believe that they won't stop there. The majority of women do not vote Conservative, so why not eliminate their right to vote, and if they got a problem with that, well they can just go back to the kitchen where they belong, and if they talk back, bring back the "rule of thumb". On an economic side, any company would benefit from free labour, and if you just strip away some human rights, profit margins will rise. Harper is pro-business as seen in his platforms, so in order to help out the CEO's a little more, just eliminate their highest controllable expense.

If anyone wondered what trickle-down economics was, this picture should help out quite a bit. Trickle-down economics, a term brought about by the late President Ronald Reagan's economic policies in the 80's is where the rich stand on a mountain of money and pee on everyone who are beneath them. The Conservatives are setting up their economic policies in a similar fashion to this as well with all of their tax cuts for the richest people in Canada. The biggest problem, well not the biggest but at least one problem, is Canada does not have the moral void that America has. Americans, for the most part, and for the most part I mean Republicans, would gladly sell their own first born child to add another wing to their mansion. (By child I mean female child, male children are almost too valuable to them to sell) Canada has compassion for others and for that reason I believe that the Liberals will win a minority government on the next election. Well, that and the fact that the Conservatives are grabbing Bloc votes in Quebec which will let the Liberals win a few more seats and my groundbreaking reporting which has already cost the Conservatives their support from their own independent economist. If that doesn't work, I will spearhead the lap dances for votes campaign to get the Liberals a couple of extra votes needed to win by using actual Liberal MP's to do the dances. Hey, if the Conservatives keep on talking about "strippergate" then we might as well just use it as free advertising.

Money Talks!

Today boys and girls, and furbys that are just beginning to learn, we are going to talk about the Conservative budget. Now, before you fall asleep, I am going to make it fun and exciting....Seriously....well no, I will just make it kinda cutesy. Part one of this section will be GST cuts.

The plan
A Conservative government will:
• Reduce the GST by one point right away, to six percent. And we will reduce the GST by another point, to five percent, over five years. The GST affects everyone – families, seniors, and young people just getting started in life. Cutting the GST will help everyone deal with the rising cost of living, put money in people’s pockets, and spur the economy immediately.
• Maintain the GST/HST credit in the federal personal income tax.
• Eliminate the capital gains tax for individuals on the sale of assets when the proceeds are reinvested within six months. Canadians who invest, or inherit cottages or family heirlooms, should be able to sell those assets and plough their profits back into the economy without taking a tax hit. It is time government rewarded Canadians who reinvest their money and create jobs.

First of all, the Conservatives put it under Opportunity in their book, not Families which should be a first indication of the fact that this won't help them. Now to the cutesy;

Little Bunny Jim Bob is an honest working bunny who can barely make ends meet. Most of his money goes to buying carrots at his local Try-and-Save but every so often he can scrape up enough money to buy shiny things from The Source by Circuit City, like an iPo d. Now the iPod costs 300 Magic Fairy Fun Discs but the Elder Bunnies make him pay 7% more so they can pay for things like health care and Debt that the previous Elder Bunnies inflated. Then, the previous Elders introduced it mop up some of the hemorrhaging that was done from their over-spending. Anyways, a new elder who thinks that Magic Fairy World is only 3000 years old and Mr. Sun revolves around Magic Fairy World even though all the smart bunnies have already disproved that theory wants to cut that 7% down to 6% and then in 5 years, cut it down to 5%. Now Little Bunny Jim Bob doesn't have to pay that 7% on his carrots that he needs but does have to pay it on his iPod. Now, if the new elder gets his way, it will take him longer to earn that iPod, but when he eventually is able to get it, after he cuts back on the carrots he needs to keep his coat shiny and to keep his vision super great, he will only have to pay 18 extra Magic Fairy Fun Discs right now but since he will be having to wait longer, he will only have to pay 15 extra Magic Fairy Fun Discs. Now, the current Elder Bunnies want to give him more Fun Discs by not taking as much of them right away so he would have more Fun Discs and would be able to afford both his carrots and his iPod sooner, and would also be able to get a sweet case so the back of it won't be scratched.

There, I managed to explain the differences between Liberal and Conservative tax cuts that are supposed to help the lower class people with bunnies. I have now become the first person to explain the difference between regressive and progressive tax cuts by using cute little bunnies and shamelessly plug multiple companies in the process.

Well, the C-Bags are at it again. I know this may shock a few but the Conservatives are deflecting an issue against them. This time it is their budget. As I stated earlier, there are holes in the Conservative parties budget which led to their independent economist to walk away from his endorsement of the parties budget. Now the Conservatives are asking for the Liberals to put their budget up for independent verification. The funny thing is, they have had their budget verified and certified by a group of 15 financial specialists and professional economists. The next funniest thing is the fact that they are really crowing about $700 million in additional spending that the Liberals introduced since the red book was launched. $700 million over 5 years. 70 billion pennies over the next 1826 days. Yeah, that's better. This amount will look scarier to people. The Liberals have only $61 Billion in cuts/spending increases over the next 5 years. They still have a lot of room to move in spending measures to help out Canada. They also have some room in case the economy goes into a bullish market and we need a bit of cash.

First of all, my previous post stated that the role of the Members of Parliament is to represent the people of their constituency. Also, a lot of people who vote for their party, also contribute...so that means that if a MP votes for something that would benefit their riding, they could be booted out of office. The Conservatives would place a 5 year ban on any Member of Parliament from working as a lobbyist. So if your life is politics, you cannot become involved in any role in politics for 5 years. I say this because the definition of lobbyist is as follows:
"A group of persons engaged in trying to influence legislators or other public officials in favor of a specific cause"
If your cause is say....getting a political party in power.....then you cannot work for them for 5 years. Also, say a disaster hits BC and there is flooding in the BC interior, a former Prime Minister who was loved by the country could not appeal to the government to obtain more money for disaster relief.
Next is to ban success or contingency fee arrangements. Now, if I pay for something, I want to make sure that it will do what I want it to do. If I am getting my house built, I am not going to give the contractor all of my money and hope he gets it done. NO, I would pay him parts of the total amount until I am satisfied that the job would be done. Also, if you hired a hit man, would you pay him all of the money with his word that he would kill the mark. NO, who the hell would trust a man without morals to do a job without some sense of certainty that it would be done right. (Again I am aware of the irony between my hit man statement and the Conservative party)

Now it is time for everyone's favorite game: Rehash a mildy amusing quote from several years ago and use it to poke holes in the Conservatives platform. YAY!!!!!
Settle down everyone. We will start off at the top of the list...as opposed to a random sentence 2/3 of the way down the list...ummmm, anyways we are going to start of with Accountability and Reforming the Financing of Federal political Parties:

"Under the Liberals, money and influence have played far too large a role in Canadian politics. During the sponsorship inquiry, Canadians learned of envelopes full of cash being used to fund Liberal Party campaigns, and of money from government contracts being funneled back to the Liberals. The "pay to play" years in Liberal Ottawa must come to an end.
The plan
A Conservative government will:
- Limit individual donations to parties or candidates to a maximum of $1,000.
- Prohibit all corporate, union, and organization donations to political parties, ridings, and candidates.
- Ban cash donations to political parties or candidates of more than $20.
- Extend to ten years the period for which Elections Act violations can be investigated and prosecuted."

First things first, envelopes full of money are far too bulky and would be very akward to carry around without suspicion. The Liberals used cheques. They are a lot smaller and you can give larger amounts of money to people without hearing the question "is that an envelope full of money in your pocket or are you just happy to see me". Secondly, I thought the role of the Member of Parliament was to represent their riding and get as much support from Ottawa as you can. Now I am not condoning what happened, but if they dispersed the money to all Liberal ridings, there wouldn't be as much of an issue but I guess the PM's riding would take preference.

Now down to the Conservatives:
1-The Conservatives have obtained a lot larger sums of money above $1000 in the 2002 federal election and when the Liberal Party called for Mr. Harpers list of contributors, Steve-o only gave 54 of the 64 financial contributors who spent over $1075 for his campaign. Now the missing 10 people contributed over $40,000 to that campaign. Now, I do not know how that broke down but even on average, that is $4000 per person, but that is pretty infeasible to see happening. Harper got some big donations from people who, either the Conservatives or the donors, do not want to be known that they support the party that is so on the right, you can see China.(And yes I am aware of the irony of China being an extreme left wing state.)
2-The Conservatives are a big business party, The PC's were, The Reform were, The Alliance were, so what makes the new Conservatives special. They can lie through their teeth and get away with it by quoting Gomry!, Gomry!, Gomry!!!
3-Banning cash donations of more than $20 is completely ridiculous. As I stated earlier, cheques allow you to give larger sums of money without having embarrassing bulges in your pocket.
4-Legally, the longest you have to keep financial records is 5 years. If you try to investigate something from 9 years ago, the people have probably shredded the files legally and you won't be getting much information about it. Also, if they did try to get that passed, the provinces would use the not-withstanding clause just so they don't have to use Nunavut as a place to store documents.

That is just section 1 of the first page of the blue book. If I can tear apart the first section of the book completely, then I WILL be getting carpal-tunnel syndrome by the time I am done with this book.

To follow up on my previous post, I forgot to mention and add in their health care and "fiscal imbalance" expenditures. These are the only 2 parts of the Conservative party's platform that has not been allocated for funding and would also add to the tearing of the cavity known as the social safety net.

Also, in a related story, the Conservatives economist that verified the blue books economic structure, Paul Darby, Deputy Chief Economist of the Conference Board of Canada, has backed out on his support because of the health care and "fiscal imbalance" expenditures that were not given to him when he did the report. I personally believe that it was my post last night that scared him into backing out as I cracked the Conservative scam that they were trying to do.

I got bored earlier today and decided to look at the Conservative website and in particular their budget. Now, I do not yet have a Political Sciences/Economics degree but judging by the numbers on their website, they are going to cut over $22 billion in order to pay for their rich mans tax cuts. The one thing that they do not say is where they are going to cut in order to pay for their rich mans payments.
